Chad Ford's latest trade article

everybody wants to see wade or a young ray allen when they watch beal. i think it's just as easy to see randy foye or eric gordon.

i'm not even saying i believe he'll be a star, or a bust, or anything in between... just that you never know which end of someone's range they're going to land in. what worries me about beal is that at 6'4", he's going to have problems adjusting to NBA defenders and remaining an elite scorer unless he's really a step above everybody else athletically. it seems like he's not an elite-level athlete, which means i have a hard time seeing him succeed as an undersized 2.

I agree give me MKG.

As much as I love Hayward and Burks both of the team are best at the 2. So we could turn one of them into MKG I think you have to do it. As for the people talking about replacing Kanter- you have to draft big guys with talent or play max contracts. We are going to keep Kanter unless we are trading for an All-NBA 1st team player.

I would trade Kanter for MKG or Beal yesterday.

Looking around the league, just about every team outside the top 4 need a SF and SG badly. That's why Jazz can't trade AJ or Millsap for one. Everyone has their bigs. Trade Kanter and pick up a replacement on the market for cheap.

So because we cannot trade a big we should trade a big?

If that is the case then who do you trade? Burks or Hayward?

I hate the idea of trading one of The Four.

as much as i hate to say it, if including burks into a deal is the key to getting a top 6 pick and unloading jefferson, i would do it.

As would I. If we could get a top 6 and keep Millsap that would be huge. I don't know how possible that is though. I would hope that the Jazz would target MKG or Barnes with that pick though, depending on who falls.

So David Locke really does post on this site :)

Is Beal really that good? I dont see All-Star potential in him at all.

I think people are excited about what he can be, rather than what he has actually done. Makes him a scary pick in my book. His production doesn't match his hype (especially shooting wise with the Ray Allen comparisons).

He has excellent elevation and long arms and a very strong body.

I think you trade Burks if the right deal is presented. I firmly believe Burks is going to be injured a lot throughout his career. The guy goes too hard at the rim, ala Dwyane Wade-esque. He seems to be injured every year at somepoint. I really like his game but it doesn't work if you're not on the floor.

eric gordon: 6'3.25", 6'9" wingspan, 32.0 vertical, 40.0 max vertical, 15 reps on bench press, 10.81 on lane agility, 3.01 sprint
bradley beal: 6'4.5", 6'8" wingspan, 33.0 vertical, 39.0 max vertical, 8 reps on bench press, 10.95 on lane agility, 3.28 sprint

just sayin'.

Kanter is young and on a cheap contract, Stroked. His potential is a lot more alluring and also fits inside youth movements. It doesn't make sense for anyone to take on Jefferson unless he's going to be that final piece in a championship run. But if you have a 4-5 year window...

I believe the Jazz can easily pick up a reasonable replacement for Kanter on the open market. Hell, we're speculating about dumping a 27 year old power forward who works his *** off and has a 21.9 PER for a #6 pick or not resigning him for what he's worth. Keeping "undersized" Millsap is not a problem with Favors roaming around the paint and competent wing defenders to back them up. He's only 5 years into the league and fits perfectly into the youth movement, yet adds veteran experience and leadership.

Jazz have little chance of landing a top 5 shooting guard or small forward outside the draft. What are we hoping for at this point? Andre Kirilenko again? Jazz could pair Kanter with Jefferson for a high pick and cap relief. Then go after Batum and solidify twice over on the wing. Charlotte's shopping the #2. How about calling them up and offering last year's #3 and Jefferson for the #2, then swapping it for the #4 and 24?

I also think he will be as good or better then Ginobili, but saying you will stop being a jazz fan is going a little overboard don't ya think. With that said I'd be mad for a month if we traded Hayward. I think Burks is the least of the four, and wouldn't hesitate to ship him off for Beal or MKG along with GS pick

Haha I said I would stop being a Jazz fan if they traded D-Will so maybe it will happen:mad:

So he's Eric Gordon because he has similar athletic tributes? Look at Eric Gordon's pay day........ Oh and Gordon is a freak of an athlete

i was responding to your comment about how he has long arms and he's strong, so he'll be fine. he actually has shorter arms than gordon and less strength... so if gordon hasn't turned into an elite NBA scorer, why will beal be?

You still cannot "read" me I see. Good. I was messing with you because it sounded funny and I was prompting you to explain a little more.
