I would rather win than get a butt load of $$. Hey maybe if the deal goes down it gives the Jazz a chance to sign him
Easy to say when you aren't be offered a boatload of $$$. Also, I'm sure they will offer it as soon as they can in an extension. Take a max extension now and get rid of the risk of going through a injury or bad season that would take you out of max money.
Also, players have ego's that fuel them to think they can win anywhere.
