So our Sony Bravia has a bad panel... Only after 3 years... A $2000 dollar repair. Yikes. Sony offered to "give" us a "reconditioned" TV for $600 bucks. LOL. Thanks guys...

Gonna buy a new TV soon. Definitely not Sony. Suggestions?

LED. It will be in a bright room so I'm pretty sure that will eliminate plasmas...

Something between $1000-1500...

We do have one Samsung Plasma downstairs. I love it. The only issue I've had has been with the speakers. The speakers just aren't that great. While the Sony's were really good. Perhaps a higher end Samsung would have better speakers?

Vizio is the best choice unless you're willing to spend a lot of money. I am familiar with their fab, and they use state of the art equipment and world-class engineers. I have had my trusty Vizio for 6 years now, and not a single problem.

I have had really good luck with samsungs tv and monitors, great quality, long life, and fair price. Also have a philllips HD LED in our bedroom thats been going strong for 7 years now.

Really tough to say. It depends on how much you want to spend to be honest. I am guessing you want a massive TV? 50+ inches?

****. What was your Sony model? Now you've got me all worried. I had a helluva time even getting that thing in the house. Too big.

It was a 52 inch Sony Bravia (LCD)...

I'll look for more info... The repair man prior to us calling Sony said that Bravia's have a history of bad panels and a few models were actually recalled.... Ours wasn't one of them. Yipee.

Since this is in one of the main rooms I'll be looking for something between 50-60 inches. Nothing too big...

****ity ****! If mine has issues I'm going to be ****ing pissed off - I didn't pay a ****ing premium for a ****ty TV that doesn't last for 3 ****ing years.
