BYU Football 2012

The prob with WSU is they match up well with BYU's defense. Check that, Leach's offense matches up well. BYU's defense is bend but don't break. The idea being give 5 yards not 50. Make a team work their way down the field.

Leach will take that all day. His offense gets the ball to the playmakers in the flats and underneath and then let them run.

Does WSU have playmakers?

Does WSU have playmakers?

IMO you could at least make an argument that WSU might have the 2nd best WR in the PAC behind Wood's at USC. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I believe his name is Marquis Wilson or something like that. In fact, the overall WR unit is pretty nice. They supposedly have 2 viable options at QB. The freshman that Utah faced up in Pullman last year was stick thin, but tough as nails and he was filling in for an injured guy who's supposedly better depending on who you ask.

Don't know much about them defensively, but it sounds like Leach has just enough talent on offense that once you couple it with his system, they're going to scare some teams. I still can't bring myself to pick them over BYU though. I think WSU will be one of those teams that is much better by the end of the season than they were at the beginning as they will have had more time in that offense.

Plus, I don't usually believe any preseason hype I hear coming out of Provo, but I do think their LB unit is going to be the best they've had in a long, long time. Certainly good enough to anchor a D that can beat WSU as long as the offense doesn't get turnover happy.

Holy F'n S! I just went back and watched that 2012 BYU football commercial for the first time. 2 thoughts:

-Riley Nelson is probably the most popular guy at the gay bars in Utah County, and....

-That part where they had the black guy draped in chains? Really?

WSU should be able to score this year but it will be mostly through the air. Their problem is their defense sucks. OK secondary but front seven is terrible and I think switching to a 3-4. BYU should be able to score on them which will put pressure on the WSU offense and maybe cause some forced mistakes.

I don't see it as a trap game. I just don't think Washington St. has enough time to implement Leach's system and they don't have that much talent. Coupled with a senior laden BYU team, we should win.

WSU is more talented than USU....

I think WSU is the better team and will beat byu. It's not a trap game for byu, it's a superior opponent from a power conference.

You're right your Pac 12 bias isn't shining through. WSU is a power because they are a Pac 12 school, just like Colorado and UCLA.

It's fun getting to have a PAC 12 bias. Sorry, I'm in an annoying mood.

What kind of record are you expecting byu to have this year?

The PaC 12 is really more of a finesse conference these days, might want to leave power out of the equation altogether.

This is nothing more than a BYU myth. BYU fan desperately NEEDS to show that the PAC-12 isn't very good, then they can believe that Independence is a good thing. The problem with this is, and it usually the problem with most myths via BYU fan, the facts. The facts say otherwise:

"After I read your post I was curious which two conferences were rated higher. I assumed the SEC was one of them, but I didn't think the Big-12 or the B1G have been better over the last decade. To find out, I went to https://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin-ar chive.htm#foot and did the math myself.

Over the last 10 years, the #1 rated conference was the SEC, with an average ranking of #2.4. The PAC was #2, with an average ranking of #2.9. The Big-12 was #3, with an average ranking of #3.3. The ACC was #4, with an average ranking of #3.5. The B1G was #5, with an average ranking of #4.5.

2011 - PAC #4 SEC #2 B1G #3 ACC #7 Big-12 #1
2010 - PAC #1 SEC #2 B1G #5 ACC #4 Big-12 #3
2009 - PAC #3 SEC #1 B1G #6 ACC #4 Big-12 #5
2008 - PAC #4 SEC #1 B1G #6 ACC #3 Big-12 #2

Pac12 blows. There's like 3 good teams.

You dick hole ute fans have a little more ammo in the trash talk game right now, I can admit that. I predict BYU to go 10-2 with 2 stupid losses to very average teams. Also **** k whit
