Ummm Jazz in talks for Jimmer?

I could see the Jazz's pick being entered, with lottery protection. Our pick should be in the low 20's, so it's not like we would be losing much.
 
If we only received Jimmer in a trade that included the golden state pick, that proves the Jazz don't care about trying to win a championship, only filling seats.

Provision should be Watson and the lower of Utah's two picks. I can't see both Utah AND GS missing the playoffs so the pick would likely be late-teens.

I would do this, but I don't think it is a possibility. We cannot trade picks in consecutive years. If we trade our own pick, it would need to be for 2014. I'd trade that pick for Jimmer in a heartbeat. We will be good in 2013 and that pick will be crap. Jimmer learning from Mo would be ideal. That is the type of PG Jimmer would need to be. Because our other wings are good ball handlers, it would work out well.

Isnt it just that you need to have a pick in at least 1 of 2 consecutive years? NJ traded us their #3 last year and Portland their #6 this year right?

Good question. I didn't think other people's picks traded to you counted, which was why we see to many select then trades during the draft to circumvent the restriction.

I could be easily wrong.

On another note, they need to stop the nanny-statism on basketball. If Isaih Thomas is stupid enough to trade all of his draft picks for a decade, let him suffer. And no more player amnesties!
 
If the Jazz trade the GS pick for Jimmer, you will never see me post on this board again because I will no longer be a Jazz fan. Sometimes, life really is that simple.

Stipulation: If we get an unprotected future 1st back from Sacramento or something like that, all bets are off bitches.
 
Tangentally, if I were a Knick fan I would have paid Karl Malone to elbow Isiah again when he was ruining the Knicks.
