Ahoy hoy.

My sister and I are planning a trip and we're debating between New York in the winter or Orlando next summer. You guys were really helpful with planning my trip to San Francisco, so I thought I'd seek some help once again.

New York in winter >>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Orlando.

Maybe sw Florida or the Keys ..

Orlando over New York simply because of the season. F winter.

I wanna go to the Keys so badly for 4-5 days and drink like a fish but my better half doesn't drink much.

I lived in the keys for 2 years. Have to be careful going there for too long .. after only a couple weeks you get the Keys disease and it makes you not want to do **** but fish and drink.

Doesn't sound so bad.

I had a friend visit after I had been there two years and he wanted to go out to eat (like to a restaurant and people that live there catch their protein, grow their fruit, and get veggies at the market. Anyway, I realized I no longer owned a pair of shoes, not even flip-flops. Scared me to death, after laughing at myself, and I left before I went all Tom Hanks Island movie.

Is there a reason you'd be taking the trip at a different time based on the location other than winter being your favorite season?

I hate winter, but New York around Christmas is awesome.

Go like two weeks before Christmas when it's cheaper too, not on the Christmas week itself if you can. That really is the one time to see the place if you're not going be going back there often. And most the stuff you're going to spend significant time at is indoors anyway and the parks look cooler in the snow. NYC is pretty miserable during the warmer months in my experience. I'd choose damn near any beach locale over it at any time other than Christmas season, but it certainly is worth going to.

I would probably go to NYC just because I'm use to living on the coast, but if I was trapped in the middle of land like most of y'all I would probably go Orlando.

What is there to do in NYC other than walk around a ton of people and eat pizza?

NYC for the food. If the you go to NYC, be sure to try foreign food there....it's usually very close to actual foreign food.
I had the best Gyro from a street vendor in NYC. I wish I had a Shawarma though.

Too bad it's the winter though, I haven't been in winter.

A lot.

Concrete jungle? Beach??

j_f please, the choice is obvious.

Edmonton, AB, Canada.

I'll start tidying my living room

I'm leaning more towards New York. I've always wanted to go there around the holidays...towards the end of November/beginning of December. I love Christmas and there's no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to go to Rockefeller Center, eh?

Or maybe I'll go to Orlando too if I have any money left after New York.

Also, let's add Edmonton, AB, Canada to my list of options.

Well that's a game-changer. Now you throw Edmonton in the winter to the list of options and it becomes a real head-scratcher.
