My Brother's Last Wish - A $500 Tip For Pizza Reply

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Late on Saturday my brother passed away. He was only 30. In his will, his last wish for any money he left was that we get pizza and give the waiter or waitress a $500 tip. Unfortunately Aaron was far too generous in life to ever have that kind of money sitting around in his bank account. I'm quite sure he chose that amount because he thought it absurd and impossible. So, I started a website Monday to collect the money and accomplish it for him.

So far we have collected over $1000 and yesterday while my sister was still here we were able to go to lunch and give a waitress the first $500 tip.

We will continue doing this so long as people continue to be inspired by his generosity. Hopefully I get to honor him in this way for the rest of my life. I just wanted to share, as I have been a part of this community for over a decade and thought some of you might be moved by his wish.

If nothing else, give your loved ones a big hug and let them know how much you appreciate them. Life can be far too short.

I was at a trade show in Long Beach one time and we bribed the hostess at a local restaurant to get us a table for 15 in under 10 minutes by promising to make it worth her and the server's efforts. We covered the cost of the tip on the check at 20% and then everyone ponied up $20 a piece. The tip easily exceeded $700. We had paid and headed out the door and were half a block down the street when the waitress that had helped us chased us down and thanked us profusely. It actually felt pretty good.
