Offseason Random Twitter Comments about Jazz Players

I just don't see it as an option for Paul to "give up" his starting position. I see it as he has no choice at all, so **** him. I appreciate what he has done, but he was the best player on a subpar team last year. That does not mean **** in my book. I want the future now.

Both are flawed, I don't care which one goes. I do think the jefferson and favors are a better fit together so I lean in that direction. Truthfully neither are the future so why "pout "about which one to get rid of?

Yeah. All signs point to Jefferson staying and Millsap being traded (I wish Lilliard had fallen to 8th). I don't know if I like it or not, but I would be shocked if Jefferson isn't here another 5 years after all the Jazz have said and done this offseason.

I think Jefferson fits in very well with this new group of players. Great defenders and shooters on the wings and a guy who can clean up his messes inside. Jefferson improved his passing last year and those bombers we now have are going to be wide open a **** ton.

Seconded. I wanna see this Big Al experiment ride out for one more year (though I would not be too upset with a trade as well). The guy gets WAY too much flak, honestly.

Why? We didn't have a pick.

It's pretty funny how many people cite Jefferson's improved passing. The biggest compliment I can pay his passing is that he is more willing to throw it back out to the perimeter. That's fine, but it doesn't count the same (in my book) as a smart, predictive, play-making pass that gets somebody a layup.

Stats don't always display passing skills. For example, Millsap is twice the passer that Jefferson is.

Yes for his passing, but not for his defense. Which is where most of the criticism coming his way is directed

amen and amen.

10% of jefferson's possessions ended in assists last season, compared to 9% in both 09-10 and 10-11. so yes, technically that's an improvement, but for a guy who uses 20.1 possessions per game, it will take 5 games for that improvement to result in an extra ONE assist. so the "jefferson's passing has improved" schtick is seriously overblown.

Post All-star game he improved .4 assists from Pre All-start this year. With the percentage of threes we were hitting that means he passed the ball 3 extra times from the post out per game. Stats dont tell how much some one is passing either, Jefferson hit a lot more open three point shooters that either missed or passed up the shot, watching the games you saw that towards the end of the season.

Plus if you compare this postseason to last year he has improved almost an assist per game.

Is he on Millsaps level? Clearly the answer is no. However bad we want him to be traded he has not been, so far. Therefore I am going to cheer and push for any improvement he shows. Still want that trade but I am not going to him with a stick for improving even a little.
