Are more rep points awarded when repped by a high reputation poster?

And vice versa, do you lose more points if you are neg repped by a high rep poster?

If not, I vote it to be so.

I guess my vote doesn't count that much since I just got here. Or does it? Maybe we should vote if it does or doesn't . And then vote on the topic at hand. Or not. Just an answer to the thread would be cool too.

Aren't you still on probation? And you're already worried about rep points... I sniff a dupe.

I was just wondering because I got two reps that totalled 37 points. So I was wondering how that happened.
 
Great question. For research purposes only, I neg repped the OP so he can figure this out. It's important.

Thanks. I figured it out I think. I was at 37 points after two positive reps from PKM and northeast. Then Trout negged me to 26 points, then Freak negged me to 18. So Trouts neg was worth 11 points and Freakazoids was worth 8. So Trouts opinion is worth more than Freakazoid.

Sorry PKM, I made you waste your positive rep points you gave me. They are all gone. You must have really high rep power, or that northeast dude does.

northeast sucks... so hard that his rep only applies in a vacuum.
 
I got an idea.

Jazzfanz should have a lottery for rep points. Working your way up just sounds way too hard.
 
OK, I think I have an algorithmic calculation to figure this out. Who pos repped you and who neg'd you? I don't need numbers, just names.
