Should the South secede?

I have questions on what states are included in "the south."

google images has several versions of "the southern states"

This one doesn't include Maryland, West Virginia, or Delaware

My opinion.

Kentucky = definitely
Delaware = NO f'n way
Maryland = NO f'n way
Okalhoma = Neither North or South, in my mind, just kinda hangin'
West Virgina = South
Missouri = 50/50 on that one
 
I`m from Louisiana, but have lived most of my adult life in WA state. I live in Louisiana now, and CAN`T WAIT to get outta here. The ignorance down here is almost unbelievable. 90% of whites down here are the biggest hypocrites - Republican Christians (Christians, as they call themselves) they pretty much stand against Jesus` teachings by pulling for the rich. Some of it is just pure ignorance, but mostly it`s just selfishness.

I`m all for Cascadia - N. Cali, Oregon, Washington, Idaho (or N. Idaho), Western Montana, poss British Columbia. I find that people are just generally smarter in the Great Northwest.

The South and Midwest should have their own country. Then of course they will fail, and I will sit back and laugh lots.

East Coast? Meh

You can't just arbitrarily split up states and keep the parts you like best. Either you get all of CA, ID & MT or you don't get any.
 
Years ago I had to read a paper in college, wish I would have kept it, disscussing the a future collapse of the United States (shortly after the 'breakup' of the USSR) The author had divided the country into 8 or 9 regions or countries made from states with similar demographics, econimoics or culture. I remember that Texas was its own little country, New New Mexico was all of New Mexico, Arizona, and most of SoCal. The South was its own Country, so were the Corn belt, the Rust Belt, the Central Banking District (NY, Philly, Boston).

I laughed at the articel though when it had Utah lumped in with Colorado, Wyoming and southern Idaho. He obviously missed some of the 'cultural' differences.

People in Maryland consider themselves southerners. You get a lot of sugar, honey, baby.

That`s what they say to hide their selfishness.

It`s been proven that tax breaks for the rich are just that, tax breaks for the rich. Will it make them go out and hire more people? Hell no. It`s all about downsizing (through technology, therefore replacing humans - and shifting jobs oversees) and maximizing profits for themselves.

Hooray, the gubmint "fixed" the damn problems it created in the first place.
 
Since I live in Utah, I'd rather certain states form together depending on political ideology.
Constitutional western red states! Make it so.
 
There is no reason for secession. Simply have tax rates determined and collected by the States with a much smaller tax % automatically going to the Feds such as 2% (There would need to be a Constitutional Amendment to do this). That way, the States can choose how to tax their citizens, and citizens can choose to move to other States to have more favorable tax rates.

Just like corporations have moved to States with lower tax rates, so too will many citizens.
