NFL Thread 12-13

I believe miami also has devon bess to throw to and he is a pretty good weapon. (undersized quick guy ala steve smith, deshawn jackson)
Having said that, i agree with wes that they wont be very good.

Funny moment in last night's game - rookie Will Batson hit a 25 yard field goal which was waived off on a holding penalty, got pushed back 10 yards and then kicked a 35 yard FG which was waived off because of another holding penalty, got pushed back another 10 yards and hit a 45 yard field goal.

No matter what the team, I always root for rookie kickers. Trying break into the NFL as a non-roster kicker/punter is like trying to break in to Fort Knox.

They don't play Carolina.

You left out Oakland, Arizona, St. Louis, Jacksonville with Seattle and Tennessee at home.

All non playoff teams last year - all winnable games.

They also don't play at Dallas. I was drunk and those were two preseason games. That said, you're nuts. How much are you willing too wager on this? Even if they win all six of those games you mentioned (which isn't happening), they'd still need to win 3-4 divisional games too to get to the 9-10 wins you mentioned. Not happening. Rookie qb's who start from game one rarely do well. Especially when the talent they have to throw to blows. Which theirs does. Their wr's/te's are bottom five in the league if not the worst.

Do you watch football? Comparing Devone Bess to Steve Smith and Desean Jackson is ludicrous. The first two are #1 wr's. Bess is a #3. At best.

Yep as a Phins fan I just assumed he meant size wise but talent wise yes Bess is a slot WR a good one but still best used in the slot.

Also I believe Wes is a PHI fan but could be wrong on that.

A million Brazilian Dollars.

Don't need to bet - Giants are my team, as you should know.

Like I originally said, there is an "if" next Tannenhill's name. I think he will turn out to be a good starting QB - perhaps not right away though. If he does have a good year Dolphins can win some games. Their defense is already there. They have a decent OL and Lance Thomas looks like he might be a player.

If Tannenhill struggles they are probably looking at another 5 or 6 win year. We'll see.

Ah, ok. Odd that he hates on the Browns then since they've been being built on that team's template for the last 3 years.

Well they aren't fixing their hopes on a QB that doesn't read defenses or understands how to avoid injury, so you got me there.

It's actually understandable now that I think about it. Philly has been on a downward slope since Jim Johnson died and Cleveland stole Heckert. Right now that team is the definition of paper tiger. Huge expectations and less than stellar results.
