Jazzfanz ALL-TIME Fantasy Draft

Are we adding more players? Or will I still pick 10th and 11th?

NUMB, I'll add you. Wes too, as I believe you were serious. You'll be picking 11th and 12th. Sending PM's to them, just FYI.

If they don't reply/pick in the 24 hour period, we'll eliminate them from the group and play with our original 10.

Starting at Center for the Catchalls, at 7'1", 280 lbs., from somewhere in Kansas: Wilt Chamberlain

https://www.ultimate-youth-basketball-guide.com/images/wilt-chamberlain-21357928.jpg

4x MVP

2x NBA Champion

Averaged nearly 38 points and 27 rebounds ...as a rookie

Averaged over 50 PPG and 25 RPG in just his third year in the league

Is the reason the NBA invented the 3-second rule and widened the lane.

Is the reason the NBA required players to release the ball at the free-throw line when shooting free throws (because Wilt could dunk his)

Holds the record for scoring 100 points in a single game

Inspired the phrase, "Why y'all gotta bring that kool-aid up in here?"

Is reported to have slept with over 10,000 women.

Also inspired the invention of the wah-wah pedal
(okay, I made that up)

Got traded to the Lakers before it was cool for HOF centers to get traded to the Lakers

Here he is dunking on other legends like Bill Russell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xr3i9jpiTE

One of the few players to warrant cheesy Epic Story soundtrack here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4WZXiaDzyc

I actually had him at #1 on my Big Board. I'm surprised he's available with the 9th pick.

Carry on.

Some of my thoughts on Wilt from another thread:

Wilt was a physical freak, but his greatness heavily came from the time he was playing in. He was the only 7 footer at the time, playing in a league without a 3 pointer, and more importantly, NO GOAL-TENDING. For those of you who haven't actually watched Wilt play, he would sit under the basket, wait for one of his teammates to shoot the ball, then while it was on its downward arc, grab it in mid-air, and dunk it. I remember seeing one of his teammates shoot a bank shot, but after it hit the backboard, Wilt just grabbed it and put it in, himself. Hell, if I was playing with a bunch of 5th graders on an 8 foot hoop, without goal-tending, I'd average 50 ppg too.

Having said that, Wilt was one of the most physically gifted players of all time. If he had been born into today's age, I'd say he would be something along the lines of a Dwight Howard; a physically gifted beast, but raw offensively.

This could also be said to apply to Russell.
