Kemp's stats are virtually identical to Amar'e's if you look at FG%, FT%, Assists and Steals, and Kemp normally averaged a board or two better than Amare'. Stoudemire averaged more points than Kemp, but you could argue that he was more the focal point of the Suns' offense and the Suns played at a fast pace. I really went back and forth on Stoudemire vs. Kemp, but ultimately found that Stoudemire was half a step quicker and a bit more polished offensively, especially in the pick and role. But otherwise, Kemp and Amare are very similar players.
My only issue with Blake Griffin is that he needs 3 seconds to get his feet set and think about it before he shoots a jump shot, like he's still learning to shoot.
Griffin has only been around for two seasons. I'm sure he'll grow into an elite power forward, but he's not there yet. I don't see the point of picking him. I don't know about Amare vs Kemp. I'd rather have Stoudemire, but he's taken. Kemp was only great for 3-4 seasons.
Seriously, rep to anyone who picks Wesley Johnson over Alex English. Cy make actually die.
Amare was only "great" with one of the best PGs in history (a much better distributor/playmaker than Payton).
It takes two players to pick-and-roll. No one could stop Amare once he received the ball. It got to the point where Duncan wouldn't try to guard him so he wouldn't pick up fouls. It was Greg Popovich who said Nash and Amare made Stockon-to-Malone look like Laurel and Hardy. He was exaggerating, of course, but still...
Griffin and Stoudemire are being discussed? How deep is this draft?
