Former Newman Greenie Randy Livingston finalist for assistant coaching position with Utah Jazz. Competing with Eric Musselman for job.

What?

Musselman is a former NBA head coach and DLeague head coach. Livingston played some for the Jazz and was a DLeague head coach the last two years.

Google tells me that we should snag Eric. However, google also tells me that many were interested in Eric, but then didn't hire him. <-- that intrigues me.

Musselman was a guy I thought might be a candidate, as there is the connection between Corbin and Bill Musselman. It wouldn't be a bad hire. Livingston is interesting.

^ good managerial attitudes ^

I wonder what his basketball strategies are (in terms of Xs and Os)

Hire Musselman. Just don't let him be the DD.

Based on his coaching experience, he was a stud in the CBA, did very well in Golden State (runner-up for COY) in his two years despite bad player injuries, and had one crappy season with the Kings but I would imagine that wasn't the easiest gig, especially with a young Artest.

Edit: In about two decades of coaching, EM has a winning season in every season but his three as HC in the NBA and quite frankly, I think he did solidly in the NBA all things considered. We definitely should hire this guy.

Livingston coaches(d) for the Stampede, who were affiliated with the Jazz last season (had no idea).

4th? Do they rank them in order or something? Not that it matters now anyway.

I doubt it, but I'm sure seniority rules. I think the HC assigns specific tasks to specific coaches, and like Musselman said, certain players latch on to certain assistant coaches.

I'm not sure seniority really rules in that manner when it comes to coaching. Mussleman's resume blows away anyone's on our roster and could basically be an assistant head coach. I could obviously be wrong though.

He may have straight up chosen ASU over the Jazz in an effort to redirect himself towards the college basketball scene, since he had already reached the pinnacle of NBA coaching and failed to keep a job.

I thought he would've gotten the head coaching job at ASU. Color me confused.

Not all head coaches are a success out of the gate, and Musselman kind of was. Which is a hell of a lot more than most can say.
