Everything was randomized by the website. I think we can all agree that there is no perfect way to do this, but even if this isn't you #1 preferred option, you have to admit it's one of the better ones. I just don't understand why they bye's are causing such a stir. If you got a bye, then get knocked out immediately, is it really any better than getting knocked out in the first round? Both parties would have won 0 rounds.

The problem with the byes is that a bye could lose to a team that got eliminated in the first round. As you say if your team isn't good enough both will end up with 0 wins. But a team that eliminated in the first round could beat a bye one, if it wasn't a bye, for instance. Anyway I just wouldn't want the luck factor in this kind of game. In the first place, I don't like the bye thing in any tournament.


Another suggestion... Simply do it to determine final 3 teams instead of a classic two teams final. First do it with 6 match ups and then 3 match ups with the remaining six team, so there will be three teams left at the final. Then people can vote for the best team out of the final three. No luck besides of the match ups which is indispensable in any kind of drawings.

Sorry you felt that way. When the discussion happened, 4/5 people were satisfied with that format. Finding a way where 100% of the contestants were fully happy was never going to happen.

SpamBoy has put on a helluva draft tourney & I see no reason to get lit up over whatever structure he's decided. I'm more than wiling to take on the first round if I'm not already in there (have no idea nor do I care). Flip a three sided die to put me in if I'm not alread.

You're actually not in the first round, and I think people would prefer just sticking to the randomized order.
