It's a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg season. Besides, the Giants typically look like crap until the end of the season when everyone is calling Manning a bust and demanding for Coughlin to be replaced...Then they go on a late season run, upset teams like the Eagles and Cowboys (who in September and Oct looked like sure fits for the super bowl) to dump Tom Brady and the Pats in the last minute of the super bowl.
Romo had a good game? yay. Do it in December.
Just look at what Romo has done to the Giants the past 4 games. He has dominated. So no surprise that he had another good game. Was it entertaining? Sure. But we've seen Romo go off before. He's the new Farve. Watch here in another few weeks he'll play equally bad and kill his team.
The only thing to take from last night's game is that Witten is damn tough.
The Giants will be fine. And I haven't seen anything to change the fact that the cowboys can sometimes be real good...Especially early in the season... They usually are. And then collapse in a few months.
Lets see what they do in December. That's when it matters.

IMO, they won't be damn fine. In a pass-happy league, they have no corners. Add in an insane schedule (look below) and I am already writing them off to a 7-9 season and third place...so much for the 9-7 I predicted (which is the one that counts) a couple days ago.

I have two problems with Dallas and their names are Romo and Ryan.
You just cannot trust Tony Romo. He's the anti-Eli. Just when you think his team is absolutely unstoppable and Tony's made 50 great plays in a row, he takes a dump when it counts. Now, with that terrible line they have to depend on him. His ability to slip out of the grasp of elite rushers is special, as is the ability to turn that extra second into a great play. But playground ball doesn't win it all.
Secondly, Rob Ryan. Ugh. I hated that dude in Cleveland. In Dallas he has some great pieces to work with and especially if those corners keep doing that well he will win his gambles a lot. But he does two things an awful lot which are predictable and exploitable. He leaves the middle of the field open, and when he's pissed off he will consistently call in the house blitz. If you have a smart QB you can burn the living bejeezus out of a Ryan coached team with the run or pass once you've become accustomed to their tendencies.
Again, the Ryan 3-4 will be (is) better in Dallas with those players but it and he are seriously flawed.

Romo's failures and choking are so ridiculously overblown by the media and magnified because he's in Dallas. His lifetime stats are literally some of the best EVER and people see what they want to see.
Ryan is WAY better than you give him credit for. The Browns were/are simply void of talent.

Romo's stats are impressive. But they're worthless because he sucks in the clutch. And the fact that he prances around the sidelines with his hat on backwards like some smug douche with 3 rings doesn't help his cause either.

Now that I've had the chance to watch the Tivo'd game, I thought the first half was really sloppy on both sides. Ogletree looks to me to be that guy that every fantasy owner will pick up because he gets 6 touchdowns in the first 3 games, but as the season progresses takes a backseat to The rest of the Cowboys offense (Decker last year). I don't think that Coughlin allows the Giants to continue to make those kinds of mistakes, and Romos pick to Boley was a horrible throw...just some quick thoughts.

Exactly. That team has been stacked for years. Romo's playoff record is 1-3. He's been starting for them since 2006.
The Browns went from the 22nd defense under Ryan to #10 last year under Jauron. He will be fired within 2 years in Dallas.

How many times has his qb'ing cost them a huge game? Brown Notes references his 1-3 playoff record but fails to mention that his losses include a brutal one at #2 seed, Favre-led Minnesota (a brutal place to play) during which their kicker missed two early field goals and their LT exited with an injury which killed Romo. The Seattle loss is blamed on him because the ball slipped through his hands on the hold, but I suppose the fact that he drove them 90 yards down the field in the closing minutes at Qwest (another terribly tough place to play) means absolutely nothing. His last playoff loss was at home in the Divisional Round vs. the Giants. This was the toughest one because the Cowboys were stellar that year. But he can't control if Patrick Crayton drops a huge pass or stops a running route as the ball's in mid-air. Does Romo deserve some blame? Of course. I'd like to see an unwavering winning spirit that can't be denied to which his teammates latch on. But people acting like he's sucked in the clutch are simply wrong.

There's a difference between reasons (what I gave) and excuses, ya know, like someone trying to explain why Jake Delhomme threw six picks in the Divisional Round of the playoffs at home vs. the Cards a few years back, or, yeah, why the Browns end up 5-11 this year.

Romo is not a reliable winner. That's a fact, Jack. Get your ***** *** excuses out of my sandbox.
If you really want reasons, here's my take on our game tomorrow. I really can't wait.
As a brief aside, the NFL is forcing the Browns (along with every other team) to tribute Art Modell. This is not going to be pretty. Basically there is no way Cleveland comes out of this event clean. Either the fans sit there and take it, giving the NFL fodder to put that POS in the HOF, or they boo(much much more likely) and everybody points the finger, oh, Cleveland, they have no class etc. etc. I really hope the front office gets this and tells Goodell to go F himself, that's the only way this would work out with any class whatsoever. Okay, that's just an intro.
As far as the game goes, Philadelphia is not a great red zone team, and Vick is prone to mistakes. So, the plan will be to keep the ball in front of us and force the Eagles to make a lot of first downs to get to the end zone. Haden has already tweeted he will be shadowing Jackson. I think the Eagles will try to run Shady right at the OLBs. Both of our starters are out we will have Maiava on the weak side and some guy at SAM(it's coming out that Fujita is dinged and will not play, his backup is also unlikely to play, the guy we are plugging in there will be one of Tank Carder, LJ Fort, or Craig Robinson. So, some guy). You'll run right at those guys until we can stop you, and if we have to bring a safety down to do that it's gonna get ugly. DE play against the run is going to be very important. These two staffs are very familiar with each other so scheme wise there will not be any surprises. A lot will hinge upon mistakes or a lack thereof.
On the other side of the ball Philly's D is built to protect a lead. They are GREAT at pass rushing and WEAK defending the run. Clearly this means Trent Richardson will have something to say about the outcome. Now, those guys are not bad players, quite the opposite, but specializing the way they do has its disadvantages. Those DT's in Philly are a little light in the pants, and that wide technique the ends use is vulnerable to a strong ground game. So for me the matchup of the game is the Brown's interior 3 vs the Eagles' DTs. IMO we win that battle as long as our young players can keep from committing penalties. If we get into long passing situations that Eagle D is at a huge advantage. But if we don't the advantage is ours. Quick tip for you, Wes, Trent isn't hurt. That guy is a man child and will absolutely be a wrecking ball tomorrow. If Philly stuffs the box as I expect, Weeds has already shown the ability to recognize and lob the ball over the top. Of course you know this, that's why you drafted Gordon.
So to summarize, Philly is favored and for good reason. I can't say that the Modell thing will motivate the team, they are so young they can't understand that stuff. But they are also too young to know they are supposed to lose. If the Browns can keep big plays to a minimum on D and penalties to a minimum on O I like our chances. IMO we are stronger at the point of attack on both sides of the ball, and a close game favors us. Also now that rat ******* Art is dead and so is the curse. Anything can happen now.
