Just in time for him to get voted off in the Survivor thread. Welcome to the team, Murph!

i'm sure it's a min (or near min) deal. the only question i have on terms is how many years, and which ones are guaranteed?
My bet is one year, guaranteed at the rookie min.

After which Portland signs him to a toxic offer sheet.
that nightmare post is exactly why i hope billy's wrong. not that i expect murph to get enough minutes to really tempt the rest of the league, but it still makes the most sense from a jazz standpoint to give him a 2nd year with a team option, or a 2nd year partially guaranteed, or something. that's what most teams are doing now after seeing a bunch of 2nd-rounders and undrafteds get stolen from their teams because they have rights of first refusal but no bird or early bird rights.
Little different with Matthews because he was undrafted. Jazz certainly were not going to sign Wesley to a multi-year deal based on what he did in the summer or training camp. It's likely he wouldn't have even made the team if not for injuries. And, as an undrafted rookie, there were no restrictions on what a team could offer him after his first season. What happened with Matthews was a once in a lifetime event. It had never happened before, not even remotely close.I hope the Jazz have learned enough from the Matthews situation to have a team option on the second year.

Also, gatta ask, who else immediately thought 'Some White Guy' when Stern read the name 'Kevin Murphy' on draft night?
Has the championship parade be scheduled yet?
