That will never be solved. Just like all religions living together in peace will never be solved. Human nature fights against this. Like tha tline from the Matrix about the previous matrix was perfect and the people rejected it. They need some level of pain, suffering and hatred.

The two things aren't related. It's like saying building houses with indoor plumbing <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< feeding the hungry. So no one should have indoor plumbing until we've feed the hungry. The existence of misery doesn't doom all experiences to be miserable, nor should it.

they are related. money is spend on going to mars. that money could be spend on other issues. world hunger was one of the other issues.

and the matrix is fiction :P, so your argument falls there.

only way going to mars has priority in my book if mars has some hot green women.

Money alone is not the answer. The people in these places that hunger is prevalent need the know how and chance to feed them selves. I do not want to feed them.

The whole give a man a fish or teach him to fish thing.

Not many fish in the desert. Just sayin.

Add up all the money spent for indoor plumbing and I'd bet it's more than what has been spent on space exploration.

Add up all the money that is spent to eat out instead of making simple home-cooked meals and I bet it adds up to more then everything that has been spent on space exploration.

And on, and on and on.

Space exploration is important. I see it as a possible answer to world hunger, environmental issues, overpopulation, religious and cultural conflicts.....and the long term (outlasting our own sun) survival of humanity. I think it's the most important thing humans could be doing right now.

Oceans, rivers and lakes are everywhere. But even if they live in the desert they still need to learn irrigation, farming, transportation, herdsmanship...

I think that last part is certainly debateable but I am firmly in the space exploration camp as well.

I see space as one of the few things that has even a small chance of uniting humanity. It is so full of hope and wonder.

Whatever the level of food that people produce, we will increase our population to outstrip it, unless that population is limited by a different source of scarcity.
