The paragraph on Harden is interesting. The Thunder are working on including incentives that are hard enough to attain that they wouldn't count against the cap, but that would give Harden near-max money if he does attain them.

A few thoughts:
The contract Ibaka got is what I'm hoping/expecting us to offer Favors when it's time (49 mil/4 years). At least, it would be nice if we didn't have to sign him to a max deal immediately, and he might not quite earn a max by then. But we'll see.
I'm glad to see people are expecting Holiday to enter free agency as a RFA. Holiday could be the young, talented PG we've been looking for, and with all the contracts we have coming off the books, we may just be able to give him a good offer.
Then there's Harden and CP3. Deep down I just don't feel like we have a shot at Paul, and have relatively low hope for Harden. But that's fine, cause I'm very high on Burks and Hayward. But with teams focusing on these two free agents, it might give the Jazz a window to swoop in and grab a PG (like Holiday).
The 2013 free agent class has me excited. Add the GSW pick to that, and it could be a VERY exciting off-season.

James Harden and the Thunder continue to negotiate. Harden has turned down a 4-year offer worth about $52 million. The max he could get from OKC is 4 years, $60 million.
That's bull **** they can offer him the 25% coming off a rookie scale but the Jazz can't extend Millsap for the 7 year 30% eligible (and no, I'm not saying Millsap is worth that).
I agree. It doesn't make sense to me that teams can't offer their vets more lucrative extensions.
Wow, he thinks highly of himself, doesn't he? So basically he wants 2 million more/year, 15 vs. 13. They would have a great starting 4. Ibaka has looked great offensively this preseason.
So does his agent & the rest of the league. Wow.
Now that he's been sent to Houston, expect Harden and the Rockets to agree on a 4 or 5 year max extension by Wednesday's deadline.
Eric Maynor and the Thunder will talk in the summer, meaning he isn't getting an extension. With the improvement Reggie Jackson has shown, it's possible the Thunder won't even keep Maynor.
