Kanter is ready to be an all-star

Kanter just wants it more than anybody. He seems to be getting better by the minute. At this rate, he'll be starting two weeks into the season. Cant say I seen this one coming. He looks like he is dead serious about taking someone's job.

I like your optimism but that may be taking it too far. Do you think he'll take Millsap's or Big Al's starting spot?

Starting? ya right.

Corbin (and alot of jazz fans) will just chalk his productivity up to pre-season/playing against back ups.

Then when the regular season begins he will never get enough minutes to show this type of production. (unless there is an injury or trade)

I already wrote over here that 2015 is his 1st appreance in ASG, at least it's my dream.

At some point yes. Its possible. I said the same thing about Wes Mathews at the beginning of his rookie season. Granted this is a little bit different, but its not out of the realm if Kanter keeps growing by leaps and bounds. Just from his last game to this one, his offense has gotten that much better. Dont you think?

I tend to agree, and I was saying things like this when he was a rookie.
While Trout was calling him Weenus Koonter and he was a bust.... I was pointing out how efficient he was with his time on the floor.

Now I can definitely say I didn't see his massive weight loss coming, the guy always had a motor that never stops.
I think now we're seeing that motor even more so with his weight loss and the extra minutes given in preseason.

As much as I hate Corbin not playing Burks and Favors more, I can kind of see why sometimes, they both still make dumb mistakes. Kanter on the other hand looks like he plays smarter and has a better feel for the game, and tries harder. If a guy just gives you no other choice but to play him, that's what Corbin will do I believe. What Kanter can do is nothing to sneeze at, and there is no reason not to expect a great player. He was the 3rd over all pick. If he just happens to develop faster than Favors then that will just have to be. Millsap and Al aren't exactly superstars either. If Kanter is a star in the making then it shouldn't be that hard to take their jobs.

wait till the season starts and jefferson wil need 38+ minutes

Half of his points and rebounds were garbage time. But the most important things he has done against Blazers were dealing with the toughness that the opposition's 2 bigs tried to cast on him, %100 from the floor, focused shooting and layups. I have a reason to believe he can be consistent in those added skills: Competitive Emotion. Kanter does not give up starving for the win for even one nanosecond. So he's your guy to develop up to that point.

~ And he still doesn't receive the ball well, usually commits loose ball in fast breaks, can't position himself naturally on the right lane all the time on transition. Those are important things that will always stand in his way to be a Go-To-Guy, hence a star whether if all or super.

Well if you base starting on this year's preseason performance then Kanter should already be starting. He has outplayed all our bigs pretty much every game. I think the kid will be very good and has the potential to be great if he continues on working and playing hard. It is funny because last year I thought Kanter had the most to improve on but now I think he has surpassed all Favors, Burks and Hayward (at least so far). I hope he gets the minutes he deserves.

In this pre-season he showed us that he understood this: If he wants to get playing time, he doesn't need to take someone's job below. So he doesn't suck this year.

I voted him in as a pre-season all-star already.

Maybe he will get the pre-season MIP, or pre-season 6th man award?

That would be awesome.

If Kanter continues with this level of improvement then he will be an allstar next year.

Hes playing well but its only been 7 games and its the preseason. I love that he is actually finishing when he gets the ball near rim, thats all I ask of him.

And im liking his sweet outside jumpshot.

I like what I've seen so far, but am holding out before I join the party for 3 reasons.

A- This is the preseason
2- This is the preseason
D - This is the preseason
