What we need is a tea party type movement that is against both parties, and draws from both the right, and left to form something that works better.

I think real change won't occurr until this nation goes through a huge crisis like a world war. We are hooked on a system that doesn't work.

The original Tea Party - circa 2005, 2006 was against both parties. In fact, if you read some of their earliest literature, it sounded a lot like the Occupy Wall Street movement. Eventually, the Tea Party got co-op'ed by conservative power brokers and then decided to align with Sarah Palin; thereby marginalizing themselves as just another right wing entity.

Be honest Stoked, is this fake outrage?

Politicians used to duel each other when they got pissed off; now equating someone to a dog playing fetch is "a new low"? Why don't these Muckrakers start tackling something meaningful instead of playing TMZ on everything the current target says? Errr, I mean how can this nation survive with leaders saying such horrific things.

Agreed.
The original tea party was started out of the fact that Ron Paul was running for president in 2008.
Ron Paul supporters created the movement, but neo-conservatives made sure the movement was hijacked by Sarah Palin's celebrity status.

It's all political theater, and they're all playing their respective rolls in the puppet show.

I'm not "outraged" at all. Fake or otherwise. I am kind of just disappointed that this is who we have.

The problem isn't our system or the representation or the lobbyists' money... True, all of those contribute to the problem... But the problem is too many dumbass voters and lazy voters who vote on the R, D, race, or sex of the candidate running.

How else is a scumbag like Akin still alive in his race?

How else is someone like Mia Love alive/ahead in her race? Have any of you actually visited her website??? No substance whatsoever. Click on the "issues" page. No substance at all. Compare that to Matheson's "issues" page which will actually tell you something!

Nothing will change no matter what system we go to as long as sooooo many in this nation know more about Jersey Shore and the Kardashians than our government and current events.

Why shouldn't seniors use government healthcare or VA benefits? What insurance company wants to insure a senior knowing how bad of an investment they'll be? Seniors cost a lot more money typically than 20 year olds. And seniors aren't working so they aren't receiving health insurance through work.

I guess the only alternative is for a senior to have hundreds of thousands saved up and go without insurance or Medicare and hope that the money saved up lasts them until they kick the bucket. But trust me, a few hope or knee replacements, a few hospital stays, and that money saved up is gone.

America is falling into the crapper because people aren't using their heads. They assume just mindless campaign mantras like, "free market" will solve everything without actually thinking things through. What alternatives for seniors do you purpose?
