OKC Trade is a glimpse into our future

Kevin Martin is a very ideal SG/SF to complement Maynor. Toss in PJIII, Lamb, and Collison into the mix, and you've got yourself a good bench.

Im assuming they'll roll out:

Westbrook
Sef
Durant
Ibaka
Perkins

Maynor
Lamb
KMart
PJIII
Collison

Guys, this roster is ten deep.

Agree about defender but scorer? You guys seem to forget that K.Mart averaged +20pts per season 6 seasons with one season at 24.6pts and over 40% shooting on 3pts and 90% on FT!!! Hardens best season was last with 16.8pts average. Please, K.Mart is elite scoring SG in NBA, OKC won't miss a beat on offense with him. 24.6pts per game average and can't create with ball in his hands? WTF???

Which was his third, and most recent season. Come on dude, you're not this stupid.

All of them for crap teams. Guy has never won a thing.

OKC has 2 very good players. They need solid players around them. If they get a solid young player for cheap for the next few years, a solid scoring punch off the bench, and some cap relief, thats not a bad deal. Isn't Harden the type of player that does best with the ball in his hand? Lamb is more of a catch and shoot player, so he might fit better with westbrook and Durant. I don't know that they will be netter next year, but they won't be much worse.

As for the title of this thread, one thing hasn't been mentioned: Kendrick Perkins. Not only did OKC give Durant and Westbrook MAX's, give Ibaka a big extension, but they're also paying Perkins $9 million per. The Jazz, if they continue to play their cards right, won't have this problem. ALL the contracts outside of The Four are coming off the books to make room for their extensions. If OKC wasn't paying Perkins big bucks, they would have managed to keep Harden. We can keep all four of ours, if they prove to be as good as we think.

And do I argue that he is not going to improve? Point was to remind you guys that K.Mart is one of elite shooting guards in NBA and to claim that he can;t create with ball in his hands is pure ignorance. See how many of SG's still playing in NBA had 6 seasons with 20+pts average just for your own curiosity. I sometimes wonder if some Jazz fans even follow any other teams in NBA besides Jazz.... seriously.

Martin was the #1 option in those years. What has he done lately when he was not #1 on his team?

Because he's greedy - like you said. He wants as much as he can get now.

Also, he played in the NBA Finals at 22 - some players play in the league for 15 years and never get close. He probably didn't appreciate it as much.

Part of me thinks he also wants the opportunity to have a center-point, head hancho role. Would have never happened in OKC

So 24.6pts for crappy team while shooting 40% on 3's and 90% on FT means he can't create with ball in his hands? Give me a f... ing break.

What exactly is the point of bringing up the old K-Mart in the context of this trade? I'm not going to debate who was better between the old K-Mart and the current Harden because it just isn't relevant. All that matters is who is better now and how that affects both teams' present and future.

Did I ever mention about Martin's creating ability? Or even his skills PERIOD? If you look at any of my previous posts, you'll see that I think that Martin is a superb fit for the OKC bench.

All I am critiquing is how dumb your argument of 'Harden's career high is ONLY 17 PPG' (left out that he this at nearly 50%, with an equally absurd eFG%) is, as well as pointing out how dumb your prediction of 'Lamb will be better than an olympian, despite not having seen him play a single NBA game' is.

What's a little surprising to me is that they didn't move Perkins. At the very least you have Westbrook, Harden, Durant, Ibaka (who is looking much better on offense so far). Then you try to put some stuff together to get a manageable big. Hell, Miami used Joel Anthony as their starting center, and the core four of OKC (or what could have been) is going to be at least as good as the Heat's in three years.

Two words:

Dwight Howard.

You're probably right, but I haven't been that impressed with Perkins in his tenure with OKC. He's fabulous (like many others) at getting dunked on by Blake Griffin though.

Kid, read one more time , I was questioning Orangello not you.

Why it is dumb? Was it dumb for somebody to predict that LBJ will be best NBA player at one point before he played single game in NBA? Anything can happen, Lamb has great size and skills to be better then Harden IMHO, why it is dumb? Harden is good, but does not mean Lamb can't surpass him.
