More insight into Deron Williams Trade

The almost dealing him to New York to be with Amar'e is interesting. Further proof that O'Connor is always looking. Even if he didn't pull the trigger alot he was always exploring.

I wanted to see Dwight Howard go to the Nets after they got D-Will. That would be a fun team to watch.

"The deal for Williams that King threw at O'Connor that day was bigger than the one they ended up consummating, out of nowhere, two days later. O'Connor knew what King was offering the Nuggets for Anthony, and while Williams had not publicly demanded a trade, O'Connor sensed that things were going in the wrong direction in his plan to retain Williams when he eventually became a free agent in July 2012."

I wonder which other players were tossed in/out of their talks.

IMO: Favors/Kanter/Marvin/Mo/(GSW 1st) >> Felton/Gallo/Chandler/Mosgov/(NYK '14 1st)

I want to know what other picks KOC couldve gotten too!?!

It could have been players or have involved other teams.

I see that his wrist is bothering him again. Dude always has issues with his wrist, wonder what he does to injure it so often?

Torrey Ellis lives. Go Jazz.

The nets would probably have a pretty nice roster without all the trades.

Favors
Brook
Kanter
Brooks
Lillard

Along with some other stuff.

"He (KOC)said, 'I can't do that,'" King said. "'I can't put this guy in, and I can't put that guy in. But I can put Deron in.' And so then he said, 'I'll call you back.' That gave me hope."

So I wonder who are 'this guy' and 'that guy'?

Raja & CJ?

I'm guessing Milsap and CJ. Perhaps Ak.

Ummm I think you're making a mistake reading that quote so literally. "This or that"... likely not two and only two specific players. More likely a general tone that KOC had, though all players probably came up if D Will did.

The Knicks were stupid to go after Carmello. They would be a much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much,

better team with Deron. Much better.

And as someone posted above, The Nets would be much better without all the trades. All that young talent with TONS of caps space.

We need to remember this with Jefferson. If the Jazz keep him until the end of the year, it might not be a bad thing. Sucks for this year though.

The wrist again? ..how convenient. He is shooting 39% from the field this year and shot 40% last year. Those be CJ Miles averages. While with the Jazz he averaged around 47%. He is a good point guard, but was a product of Sloan's system.

remember how good Lin/Amare were during that stretch, Deron/Amare wouldve been a nice come for NY & D'Antoni.

imagine that? a talented point guard thriving in a system tailor-made for high % shots? who then gets shipped off to a team that has almost no offense and sees his numbers go down... mind-blowing

I thought he was referring to players the nets were trying to get. He can't offer Melo, etc... but he can offer Deron.

They wouldn't have drafted Kanter, obviously, but the ceiling on that team....
