My best tradd epiphany of the morning.

*Hayward is actually Randy Foye, who can't be included in the machine until December 15. Don't lynch me for using his salary as filler.

LA turns Gasol into a replacement and two very competent bench players. They need depth bad.

Millwauke gets out from underneath 2 years of Monta salary and shines their light back onto one chucker only.

Utah gets to lose 10 more games this season.

i'd rather keep pimpslap, than take on pau gasol

I dunno....I'm a huge fan of Gasol but the whole news of being indefinetly out with knee surgery kinda ruins it for me.

As for the Jazz, they would not go into this deal without some sort of security on Gasol. This is the kind of trade that makes you a lotto team (recall that Philly traded Iggy for Bynum this summer and Bynum's been out with an injury indefinitely as well).

Jazz need to get some picks from the Bucks. I still wouldn't do it because of Gasol's health issues and financial contract. Besides the fact that it would be helping the Lakers out.

How do you expect to compete with Washington and Toronto if Gasol plays this year?

(& it's tendinitis, not surgery or anything long term)

There hasn't been any discussion of surgery. It is knee tendonitis (sp?).

Becoming a lotto team for one year isn't the end of the world.

Pau is just taking a few days off to rest. Is the news of surgery just a rumor? Seems that way.

I was trying to look at the deal in terms of the Jazz organization perspective. So yes, becoming a lotto team is the end of the world to them.

I don't really see any great PG talent at the lotto...so the lotto isn't that big a deal this year.

I would hate to see the Lakers acquire Monta and Millsap.

It could only make them better, which I just hate seeing.

True because Sap would thrive in LA as a complementary player, which is really what he is.
A great bench 6th man type.

The second one is infinitely better simply for the fact that we get rid of Raja and acquire the best sixth man in the NBA, Robert Sacre.

Also, you could just trade Pau for Millsap and Jefferson if you wanted to cut out the middle man, unless you think you're making them too good.

Wow. That's an incredibly good haul for Pau Gasol who is old and sucks.

True. But in his defense, it's hard to make the salaries match, dude makes 19 mil...

I could totally see Amare + shump or a pick for Pau or something

This might actually happen; whenever the Lakers enter a slump, some team comes up with a trade that gets them back on top of the West.

Not sure what the Bucks are thinking. The sense I get is that they're more interested in keeping Ellis than Jennings. But I really don't know. An Ellis/Jefferson swap is pretty even, so I think they would at least consider it.

I doubt the Jazz do this, though. I'd be all up for finally beginning the youth movement, but I just don't think the FO is willing to risk being in the lottery.

In the first trade I think the Lakers would just get cut out and you'd end up with Gallinari and Wilson for Burks and Millsap.
