The Utah Pelicans... Errrr Gulzzzz have played the MOST games of any team in the West.

Road Heavy Schedule = Check
Most Games Played in the West = Check
Injuries to our starting PG, SF, Best defensive player, and now the Black Hole = Check
Toughest November schedule in the league = Check
Being that the above had happened we are fortunate to be at .500. Could we have won a few others (LA/NO/PHI), possibly but it all balances out.

I for one am still excited about this team and potential this year. The fact is we won't suck bad enough to get a top 5 pick so why not make the playoffs, get the youngs 'Some' experience, and play spoilers to the Lakers or some team we hate.

Again, .500 is good at this point!!!!

PS - Trade Jefferson

1-6 vs winning teams (the 1 being 9-8 Houston)

3-9 on the road.

Reality check.

These are the makings of a borderline 8th seed at best. Lucky for us the West is so homogenized near the bottom at this point. But we shouldn't fool ourselves... something's gotta change.

Kanter is ready to start next game

Basketballwise? Since he's fouled like his name sake (the big Turkey; that's a pun people), he's missed defensive assignments like Monta Elis with a 20 point lead, rebounded like Gordon Hayward, and generally played like his *** is a sandwich with the lettuce falling out (awkwardly).

It's not as bad as I lead on, but he has a long way to go.

Toughest November schedule?

They've had the 23rd toughest schedule so far.

Really because Everything I've read prior to the season and even into the season was that our schedule was the toughest considering our road heavy schedule.

Ok so you can complain but what is your solution?

3-5 after starting 0-4 on the road.
7-1 at home

What will change is less games, more home games, and more victories.

What won't change, fans that want this team to end up being in Las Vegas because losing isn't the answer... For ever one Duncan or Lebron stories there are 10 Others .. Please refer to the Wizards, Kings, Hornets, or any other team that hasn't done crap at all in a decade.

So again, what change besides blackmailing Lebron and forcing him to SLC?

Watch out Houston, Minnesota, Lakers, and Denver, we're coming for that 8th seed!
Playoff experience FTW!
Mediocrity is the new Superiority

Why do I have to have a solution? Moreover what possibly could be accomplished by my positing a solution? I'm just laying out some facts. Don't bitch and whine because you don't like what you see. I want the team to win. But I don't think this team is going to win a sufficient amount of games as presently constituted.

If the Jazz can win more games against Dallas, GS, Rockets, Denver, LA, Portland, and Minnesota than they lose then they will make the playoffs. But what have we seen to think we're on a different level than any of those teams? We're dead in the middle 25%-75% percentile of the West along with 7 other teams. And furthermore road games and games against other winning teams are going to play a large deciding role in how this whole thing shakes out.

Again, fans like you bitch about things but what would be your solution? The Jazz are in one of the best positions heading into next year cap wise. They have chips to trade.
They are competitive and winning games yet there has been a number of issues against them.

Also where was I whining? Pretty sure I laid out the facts....

The fact is, in the NBA you don't win titles unless you are Jordan or Lebron OR have a dominant big. The only team to win without those was the Pistons and they had the DPOY in the middle.

So I guess I should of asked... How many fans would rather us be competitive and in the playoffs or how many would take losing for 5-10 years to land a legend to get us a title before they leave to south beach or LA?

Stop being cheap. No one is suggesting our only option is to somehow get Lebron. So stop being an ***.

Simple realistic solutions:

#1 Play Burks. No more DNPs. Period.
#2 Start Favors. No reason why he shouldn't. He's our best big.
#3 Serve me a heavy dosage of Turkey. He's ready.
#4 No more Jefferson. Seriously. Time to trade him for literally anything.
#5 Define roles. Corbin is an idiot. You're not "coaching" basketball players. You are there to define roles and make sure players are playing those roles. If they aren't, sit their candy asses down. If they don't like it, show'em the door. Up until now our team hasn't had an identity. We're 5 players each trying to score. Defensively, we're 5 players not looking out for each other. Time to define roles. What is Millsap's role? Who is our G2 guy(s)? It's late in the 4th quarter, it's a key 3rd down, we need to connect, what is our g2 play? When Jerry was here, there wasn't any question what Stockton/Malone or Williams/Boozer/Money Memo were going to do.
#6 If Ty Corbin is unable to do this, ship his candy *** out of here.
#7 Bench players. If it's one of those typical games against New Orleans and you can see guys aren't playing hard, sit their candy asses down. Yell at Dick Bavetta and pick up a T. I can't tell you how many times Jerry jumpstarted his teams with a key sub or tech.
#8 Structure a damn offense. Along with roles, I want to see some identity or semblance of an offense. If Marvin Williams can post up his man, do it. Keep going at it until the defense adjusts.
#9 Along w/#8, I want to see some hot high/low action from our bigs. I don't see that at all. I have no clue why, as all 4 of our bigs are capable. 1 never passes. But the other 3 are pretty unselfish. Kanter dumping down inside to Favors for a pin down dunk ala Gasol to Bynum could be unstoppable. Millsap to Kanter/Favors down low could be awesome. Why aren't we doing this?
#10 Change up the defenses. Get imaginative for crying out loud. Mix up the man, zones, boxes, everything. Like in Football, one can do wonders by mixing up defenses to keep the offense guessing. Our team currently runs the most vanilla defense I've ever seen.

There are 10 simple and realistic solutions that would drastically improve this team.

#8. I don't get why Corbin never calls Marvin's number. Dude is a stud in the post and is bigger than 90% of the league at his position. I seriously don't get this one. Plus he's a good passer. I'd like to see Hayward in the post...he had one today with Reddick and got a nice pass out of it.

Reality check is pretty simple to me, after ten games we are a .500 team that doesn't seem to have a solid plan for the future. Its like Corbin is trying to win now with veterans...except for he isn't really winning all that much. I've seen way to much of Jefferson, Milsap, and Foye and haven't seen enough Kanter, Favors and Burks. We cannot contend with the way we are playing now, not with the minute allocation. We have to make changes and get our younger guys involved so they can improve. Don't see enough movement on offense. We have potential and talent, it just isn't being used and thats Corbins fault.

First of all Basketball prospectus has the Jazz's schedule as the hardest so far, dont know how reliable or where they get their #'s but it seems pretty legit.

1. Dont think playing Burks a ton wins the Jazz more games, would make the game more interesting to watch but thats about it.
2. I agree with this, you try and get Paul on board with this though.
3. He is really up and down this year, from almost great, to really ****ing bad
4. This is a stupid
5. I agree with this, I would like to see more structure when it comes to whats going on Utah is the 8th most efficient offense. Things aren't as bad as you make them out to be.
6. I would like to see Ty be more of a bad ***
7.Agree
8.Once again, 8th most efficient offense behind NYK, MIA. OKC, LAC, LAL, Spurs, and Rockets ....
9.I would love to see more high low and inside outside play
10. Our D needs work, I agree.

Wouldnt it be soooo easy to be an NBA coach?

Regardless of our record I am always ready for the next game. GO JAZZ!!!!
