Possible Trade

I really don't know the players they proposed to the Jazz that well, but I know we need a better and younger point guard to go with our young core. The Jazz get Eric Bledsoe point guard from the Clippers, T. Jones PF from Houston (lottery pick if I remember right) and C. Parsons SF from Houston. I think T. Jones has been sent down to the D league. I hate to lose Burks, but Corbin will not play him anyway. Millsap will not be with us next year probably. Houston gets Millsap and the Clippers get Alec Burks. What do you guys think of this trade?

Hope this is readable, as it would not post in the original form. Just off the top of my head I think this trade is fair to all 3 teams.

Projected Record Note:

Projected records are based on the PER of the players in each teams post-trade rotation. Taking into account the players traded and the ability of their replacements, it is possible for each team in a trade to have a better projected record, or for each team to have a worse one, or for one team to be better and another to be worse by a different number of games. This Trade is Successful!s.

Eric Bledsoe, age 22: Last year, Bledsoe wasn't much to behold statistically. But as you'd expect from a player turning 22, this season he's shown great improvement. Right now, he excels at two things: putting points on the board by shooting a great percentage from the field and stealing the ball. He also gets to the line more often than most these guys. But balancing that are below average shooting percentages from the free throw and three point lines for two years running coupled with lots of turnovers and fewer assists than the bulk of his fellows. He can guard and attack the hoop, but has not yet shown the ability to consistently shoot, pass, or take care of the ball. Found this info on one of the players we would acquire in the trade.

This one sounds like a second round steal like Millsap turned out to be:

Former Florida forward Chandler Parsons was rewarded for a strong rookie season with the Houston Rockets.

The 6-foot-10 Parsons was named to the NBA's All-Rookie second team with Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings, Marshon Brooks of the New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets, Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Derrick Williams of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Parsons, a second-round pick of the Rockets last June (38th overall), turned out to be one of the steals of the NBA draft. He started 57 of 63 games, averaging 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds.
Parsons played four seasons at Florida, and in his senior season was the first UF basketball player to earn Southeastern Conference player of the year honors. He helped lead UF to the Elite Eight in his senior year.

Please stop with Parsons. I touted the **** out of the guy and said we needed to draft him. Now, we have zero shot and it's simply one big tease.

This isn't a fair trade for the Rockets. They really love Parsons, and the Clips aren't trading Bledsoe until they are sertain Paul isn't going to leave town.

Back to the D league for Jones (6-9, 252, Kentucky) rejoins the Vipers following a two-game assignment earlier in the season. In those two games he averaged 22.5 points, 17.5 rebounds, 1.0 block and 36.0 minutes. Jones has appeared in eight games for the Rockets this season, averaging 4.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 10.0 minutes. Selected in the first round (18th overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Rockets, Jones averaged 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 76 career games for the Wildcats. A member of the 2012 NCAA Championship team, Jones earned Second-Team All-SEC honors last season and was selected the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2010-11.

Kept waiting to hear PKM's thoughts on the trade, so I went back in history and found this:

I think the full range of opinions are all fair, btw. I like him (didn't so much during the draft) quite a lot, but I am not blind to those very good reasons to proceed with caution. Chris Paul is on my Fantasy League so I mostly catch the LAC games. Every time Bledsoe gets in the game, I'm thinking to myself .. ****! Paul's not getting back in!!

Now that I know how PKM feels about Bledsoe, how would you feel about the rest of the trade PKM? I am really interested in your feelings on T. Jones, since he was on the champion Kentucky team.

PKM blew T Jones. True story.

I swear you must have some inferiority complex. LOL

Anyway, jazzrule, if I understand the net to us being lose Millsap and Burks and pick up Eric, Parsons, and TJones .. I don't see where there's much to think about.

I don't see us keeping Millsap unless we overpay. Therefore, I look at this deal as Eric, Chandler, and TJones for AB. Yes.

As for TJones... he makes things happen when he's in the game. He's very big and very skilled. Having said that, he needs a staff that has the time to coach him up. He's just not up to speed on bb IQ and tries too hard too often. I think Bledsoe would be a steal and anyone that wouldn't Chandler .. well..

Biggest problem I see is it's just not even remotely realistic, imo.

Twolves is ok without Love. They are still winning without him. Gasol reunites with Rubio and other Euro guys.
Bulls just want to get rid of Boozer.
Lakers just want to get a better bench and support in whatever shape or form.
Jazz .. meh .. just get rid of Al and get somebody that could tease Jazz fans that they are on their way up. (With Love though, MSap is considered gone or back to the bench). Ridnour is just a filler. Oh Jazz will probably have to give a draft pick or two for this.

Starting 5: Mo, Hayward, Caroll, Love, Favors
Bench: Luke/Earl/Tinsley, Foye, Burks, Evans, Marvin, MSap, Kanter

Yes Caroll should start! =)

I've thought that Boozer and Howard would make a good combo.

Even if the trade is Millsap and Burks for Bledsoe and T. Jones I would do it. Of course I am really high on Bledsoe.

Bledsoe seems ok, but he hasn't proven to be a very good assist man either.
The dude also seems too muscular for his size, and doesn't seem to shoot very well because of it.

I like the idea of Bledsoe but I'd rather see a pass first PG to get Favors and Kanter involved more.
