What's new

Anderson Varejao

Has he improved his shot since 07? I still think of that backboard clanker in game 4 of the finals against the spurs.

Sigh. Our front line is fine ffs. We have two #3 picks that are ready to take over and we are looking for more guys we would pay $10 Million for to back them up ( or in the Jazz case have them take their spots)?

We need to upgrade our guard line. Not bigs.

I agree. If we trade a big I'd liek to see a SF preferably. Possibly a PG.

That's where things get a bit confusing. Don't we like Hayward and doesn't Burks need more time too? Isn't Mo a former all star? That means that our entire future staring line up is set with Mo, Burks, Hayward/Marvin, Favors and Kanter. So what we really need are reasonably priced backups, not starters.

However, does anyone really believe in that front line? I hate to say it, but when you take the Jazz glasses off, our 'core' group of players are average at best.

I'd need more than Varajao and Walton. Throw in high-second round pick.

I'd also expect that a deal was in the works for Millsap that would bring help in the backcourt. This deal on its own doesn't make heaps of sense.

Well I think we should shore up SF more. Also if Hayward is staying as the 6th man that means we need a starting caliber SG.

Kanter is not ready to start but has earned an increased role. Favors should be starting. Burks needs more time. There are many ways to do that.

Favors/Kanter/3rd string big
Millsap/Kanter/Evans
Traded for SF/Carrol
Hayward/Burks/Foye
Mo/Tinsley/Foye

Keep Murphy in the D league this year. That is 13 players.
That gets rid of Big Al, Marvin, Watson and Bell.
Use those players to get a starting caliber SF and a 3rd string D minded big.

AV is gonna get something nice for the Cavs. I bet the Thunder are staring pretty hard at him, he's a lot better than Perkins. If I was them that upgrade would be worth more than a lottery pick at this point, looking at the LOB.

Maybe we can wiggle into a three-team deal: Utah, CLE, and OKC. I'd help facilitate Varajao to OKC if I got Maynor or Jackson. I mean, I wouldn't do much, but I'd test those waters.

Isn't Varejao a free agent at the end of the year? I think he is going to make close to the max. (I'm basing this off of a headline I read somewhere on the internet but I am too lazy to look up at the moment.)

No he has 2 seasons left on his deal.

You MUFFED the link.

There's not a GM in the league who wouldn't take V & Walton's salary for Jefferson.

Perk, the Toronto 1st, and Jeremy Lamb for Varejao is a much better deal for Cleveland.

Anderson is a beast. If they put him on the block, someone will take him - great rebounder, tons of energy, and he scores a lot of points off offensive boards. He makes any team better.

His first name is a last name, that is something that bothers me.

Huh?
