Who believes this man did predict a bunch of **** that came true? Airplanes, submarines, Hitler, etc. I almost feel like based on what we've been told, one can't even deny his special abilities. That said, if we are to believe his predictions (or some; I know most or many have not come true), why do scholars not study future prophecies to try to decipher what they mean and possibly aide us in some way? Why are these prophecies not reprinted in book form for the public to buy? Wouldn't this thing remain on the NY Times best-sellers list for about a decade straight?

Also, I believe he made predictions that go all the way past the year 3,000 so this "end of the world" **** is for the birds. Maybe, that supervolcano under Yellowstone finally erupts on Friday in which case 99% of the fans on here and the Jazz as a franchise may be screwed but the world wouldn't be completely screwed. Anyone know more about that supervolcano btw?

I'll share my opinion on Saturday, as usual.

My moms freaking out about traveling to LA on Friday!!! Says she worried about dying on the drive to Cali instead of at her home!!

LOL

Nostradamus is the biggest joke ever.

I love his famous "predictions."

""Near the gates and within two cities
There will be scourges the like of which was never seen,
Famine within plague, people put out by steel,
Crying to the great immortal God for relief."

And yet somehow that's translated as the Atomic Bomb. You could easily translate that to anything. Yes, including Dick Bavetta's officiating. How often to we Jazz fans cry to the great immortal God for relief when Dicky officiates our games?

it's speculation so it will always have ratings. but many people in the world believe in things that are hard to explain by logic and belief is not something to be measured by logic, so we should just leave it be if we don't buy it.

I actually was pretty disappointed in his legend a few years before about a meteor hitting the agean sea at an angle to splash the waves over my hometown -which was a good thing that it did not happen of course.

When I was kid (early 80's) I remember watching some Nostradamus documentary with Orson Welles as narrator. I distinctly remember the show put forth the following predictions.

Ted Kennedy would be President
A major earthquake will occurr in California in 1988 which will result in part or all of the state falling into the Pacific Ocean
A nuclear bomb will be dropped on NYC in July of 1999 (having lived in NYC at the time I had a vested interest in remembering the date).

As far as I recall, none of these things happened.

Although looking back the one prediction that came true is that the real threat to the US in the future will not come from the Soviet Union but from the Middle East. During the Cold War this seemed highly improbable.
