A lot of us want Big Al to be traded. But to where, and for whom? Have no fear, I have found a viable trade--not a perfect trade, but a decent enough one to pull the trigger:
Big Al + Randy Foye + Raja Bell to the Charlotte Bobcats for
BJ Mullens + Ben Gordon + Diop (works in ESPN Trade Machine)
Mullens is only 23 and has potential to become a Memo-like stretch 4 who can rebound, but more athletic and taller than Memo. And a stretch 4 would open things up for Favors and Kanter (once they learn to pass out of the post).
Foye and Gordon are basically the same player (and even the same age), but we need to Gordon's contract to make it work (and he only has 2 years left).
Diop is just filler who could provide a few minutes of decent defensive relief.
This trade is more about getting rid of Big Al and his lack of defense/ball-stopping play, and giving the reins to Favors and Kanter, than it is about getting something amazing back (and I'm assuming the Bobcats won't give up Kemba Walker). Start Favors and Millsap, make Kanter the 1st big off the bench, and give Mullens 10-15 minutes.
Also, I like Mo, but with Big Al gone, I'm assuming the flex is going to work better with more&better ball-movement, and more PnRs as well, which Mo doesn't excel at. I'd love to trade him for Jeremy Lin, who is more of a north-south player and plays the PnR much better (not to mention he's younger and is still developing). He's not the shooter that Mo is, but that's ok; we need a better distributer from the PG position (though Mo has been distributing pretty well so far). But the biggest urgency is to get rid of Big Al, give Favors and Kanter the reins (and give Burks more minutes), improve the ball passing and defense.
Thoughts?
