What's new

Game #39 Jazz at Pistons 5:30 Mtn.

It was actually just a bad play by Watson. He picked up his dribble for almost no reason. Mistakes happen.

Seems like alot of bad plays and mistakes just "happen" to watson lately..... Oh well keep playing him no matter what right? If burks makes a mistake, take him out. If watson makes lots of mistakes game after game, then he is always still a better option than burks apparently.

Put it this way: I get Ty's decision to put Earl in to protect a lead. I'm not super defending it, either. But I'm more macro than micro. I don't really sweat these kinds of decisions. I'm a lot more concerned that our offense continues to look like total dog****. Whether we win or lose a few games based on late game subs is a good problem to have. With the offense we have, we have zero chance to maximize our potential. That's way more serious.

Bringing Jefferson back in was kind of eh, but Jefferson was +15 in the second half up to that point, so, again, not that egregious.

So is that how an NBA coach, who makes millions of dollars and is responsible for running an entire basketball team, makes decisions. "Oh, Al did well, so now he will do the same thing." No need to examine who else is on the floor or what the other team is trying to do. Thinking of strategy and match-ups is for the birds. This is exactly how Corbin thinks, that is, "Al was good then; he will be good now". No attention to detail by the coach leads to no attention to detail by the player. That is why Pops is a fantastic coach because he and thus his players have attention to detail, or their *** is on the bench.

All right, Jefferson is a better free throw shooter than Favors and they looked like they have started fouling to try to stay in the game. A stretch, maybe, but basketball decisions are never so clean cut. At least rarely so clean cut.
