Do don't go outside.

A collective of doctors in Utah have deemed Salt Lake City's air pollution issue a health emergency, and is calling on local government for help.

SALT LAKE CITY — A group of Utah doctors is declaring a health emergency over the Salt Lake City area's lingering air pollution problem.

Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment planned to deliver a petition Wednesday demanding immediate action by elected officials.

The group wants Gov. Gary Herbert and mayors of northern Utah cities to cut the pollution.

The doctors suggest lowering highway speed limits, making mass transit free for the winter and curbing industrial activities. They want a permanent ban on wood-burning. And they want large employees to let people work from home.

The doctors are advising people to avoid the outdoors. They say people can help their bodies fight toxic exposure by introducing anti-oxidants in their diet, like fish oil or chocolate.

So moral of the story.....be like my mother in law and don't go outside and eat chocolate all day.....BOOM!

Seriously though, I really don't miss the Utah inversion.

Good thing I'm leaving my 60's and clear blue skies this weekend for 30's and inversion!!

I run in that **** every day. No matter when I die, I'm blaming on it air quality. If you guys don't give Al Gore 2 Trillion dollars by tomorrow, everyone will only live until they are 80 instead of 80.1.

My neighbors been in the hospital for awhile because her asthma cant take the inversion, its pretty nasty

Yeah, it's bad stuff and been stuck forever. Please call the governor and demand he shutter all state offices on bad air days to take 20,000 smog pumping cars off our roads.

Signed,

Concerned State Worker.

Every morning I wake up and my throat feels fine. And then I go work outside and by the time I get home my throat is killing me and I'm coughing up junk all night. Then I start over the next day. Fun stuff.
