Game 46 - Hornets at Jazz 1/30/13 7:00 PM MST, Root Sports

I will be at the game in the lower bowl (won my works season tickets), so the jazz better win!

Oh ya, and like usual i will sneak a bottle of southern comfort in and be drunk by halftime.

nice. rep for sneaking in soco. double rep if youll be wearing a Burks jersey.

After last game, I'm not sure what to think. But I do think that right now the Hornets are better than Houston.

Houston was red hot. It was just one of those nights. That won't happen again in our building against them.
You are right we can get beat. We aren't the Jazz of old. However, if we do what we are supposed to, and we will, tonight will be a solid victory.

Well i was trying to decide between my white burks jersey or my green favors jersey..... i guess since hayward is out (burks will get minutes) and you will rep me, then im going with the burks jersey

good choice. rep coming when i am able.

it seems when haywad is gone we miss him the most. when al is gone we just see fav and enes step up. marvin should stepo up when hayward is gone and he dosent i dont think he can to be honest. so basically the conlussion is we dont need jefferslob but we need G-time. no one can step up in his place. he does so much more then score. all al does is score. hayward creats movement something that if you all didnt notice wasnt happening on monday

Oh yeah, one game means everything. Sorry I don't live game to game. String a few home losses in a row, and we'll talk.

I think you both have a point. Yes it was one game but it showed a very worrying lack of effort and heart by several members of the team. That is not the first time they have laid down before. I blame that on the coaches and the vets.

ty should of pulled al off the floor, told him to stop drinking the night before a game sat his fat butt on the bench and let enes tear into the rockets. ty shows lack of emotion just like the players.. ty should of had a fire lit under him. not stick his tale between his legs and let his player fail and continue his rotations.

I would love it corbin sends a message to the starters and starts the bench.
and it needs to be a couple of games for them to earn their minutes back.

to bad corbin has no balls

The key matchup is Foye versus Eric Gordon and Tinsley/Watson versus Vasquez.
We lose that matchup.

If we were smart, we'd put Foye on Vasquez and Burks on Gordon and hope that Burks doesn't botch it on defense.

Isn't Burks struggling with defense right now? --I'm asking because I haven't seen enough to say myself, but I have heard Locke, Boone and Johnson (I think) say that he struggles and needs to improve if he wants to play more.

In the infamous, "Only one Loss" game against the Rockets Burks led (or is it trailed?) the whole team with a -32+/- in 26 minutes of play.

This game is feeling more and more like a loss. The Pelicans have been (ever since DWill was traded) kryptonite for the Jazz. Gordon kills us. Vasquez kills us. Ryan Anderson KILLS our bigs. Robin Lopez makes Al look shamful. And then they have Davis on top of that.

I think this is a loss.

Yeah he is. That's why I said "if he doesn't botch"
I think his major problem is he doesn't go through screens, but takes shortcuts. Not only that, but he gets way too close to the defender outside the 3 point line. If Burks is guarding Gordon, who's going to slash, he should definitely slack off a little. Gordon's fast as hell.
The thing with Burks is that he's our quickest gaurd by far and he's put up nice defensive performances before but he tends to do the wrong things.

Very true. However Big Al is paid millions of dollars to play basketball. He should lite a fire under his own butt every damn game. They all should. Look at Foye's D or Millsaps overall game against the Rockets...

Also what about the assistant coaches? They either failed to light that fire also or were prevented from doing so. The GM and owner fialed to light a fire under the coaches to get their players running up and down the court and at least trying to play D. There are several players on the Jazz that will never be good at D but it is abundantly clear when they do and do not put forth an honest effort to play D.

This was a failure from the entire organization, top to bottom.

I agree, but the coach is there for a reason. he is the guy that is suppose to say " yall are sucking it up!! you dont want to play? theres the bench!" but tyco didnt do that. he obviously knows he isnt getting fired for any of the dumb things he dose he isnt worried. I agree that the fault is on everyone, jefferson always says he hates loosing and take it pretty hard. but i say people that dont like loosing at basketball play harder D. i just dont feel like nay one took responsibility for the lose. they all just said it was one bad game... hell no that is a terrible attitude.

there was that article about the jazz wanting respect for being a decent team, maybe they need to play like it night in and night out. yes it was only one loss and that is all it counts for in the win loss catigory but it looks pretty terrible, a team want respect for being good but not trying.
sorry my rant is done.

Oh I agree. I am just syaing that this failure is more than Ty's failure, even though I would single him out the most.
