OFFICIAL: Trade Deadline Thread

Bargnani, good idea, so we can watch Favors and Kanters get cockblocked by a no-D ****e rebounding streak player for 3 more years, instead of for 1.

We're gonna needa spend money next summer anyway, I don't see why not. His contract expires in time for us to re-sign kanter/burks. The only thing giving me pause is us trading our first round pick. Getting Dragic on this team is too appealing, I say do it.

Mostly agreed. Depends on the value of the Jazz's pick. Maybe lottery protect it? I'm kind of in on getting Burke and would hate to soil that possibility.

Check out this planted piece by Lindsey from our normally tight-lipped front office.

Lindsey said. “But we want everybody to understand that we know we’re playoff competitive but not championship competitive yet. And we aspire to put ourselves inside the championship competitive group, even if we need to take a real patient approach.’’

Based on my read of it, he's basically insinuating that we're not going to casually trade out our young players or take back non-lotto type talents, even if we have to be patient and suck a while.

Why I don't get the Gay trade for the Raps: Will be basically AT the salary cap if they amnesty Bargnani. Pushing luxury tax if they don't.

Unless they trade Bargnani for an expiring Contract like Al Jefferson........

He's coming GVC, and there is nothing you can do about it.

He's terrible.

Bargnani makes Jefferson look like polished ****.

Bargnani is the runs after eating 5 chili cheese burritos... with extra guacamole and picante.

I would do this trade:

Bargnani and Toronto's unprotected first this year for Al.

Basically Toronto is giving us the pick to take Bargnani. We give them Al to give them a low post presence and hope that their pick turns into a top 5 pick.

Bargnani is expensive, but not end of the world expensive. He becomes our fourth big (behind Millsap, Favors, and Kanter) and we have more than enough cap room. Also, he comes off the books the same year that Favors and Hayward come off the books.

I'd take that risk for a chance at a top 5 pick, almost guaranteed to be a top 10 pick. Especially when Bargnani doesn't really hurt our cap space at all, and he does have some talent that you might get a little out of as well.

I don't disagree, just making some fun.

The majority of the talk around the league agrees with your assesment. But a few people say he is used wrong, bad supporting cast, and he would be better in a system.....yada yada yada.

What concerns me is that some of the minority of voices supporting Bargnani have come from Jazz broadcasters.

If Jazz are 27th defensive rebounding team with the current group, what would happen if they inserted Barnani for Milsap or Jefferson? 30th?
