What's new

Who runs the tribjazz Twitter account?

There's an interesting unfollow button that one can use. I recommend you use it if you don't like reading his stuff. You can even block him. But what's the point of this. Fans bash the players, coaches, broadcasters, beat writers. Is there anyone you guys actually like on, in or around the Jazz organisation?

Favors, Kanter, Foye (for his shooting), Burks, Hayward, Tinsley, Carroll, Evans, Murphy, Hornacek, Briggs, Millsap, the dancers, Gail Miller, Bear, Harpring, Big T and the guys at the front door seem nice.

Also to me it is very interesting how many more moves have happened since Sloan left.

But it's way more fun to just hurl out insults.

Oh man! He actually saw this. That is rich! He's even more pathetic than I originally thought for the mere fact he goes on Jazzfanz. He most definitely is trolling fans. This is probably a good resource for a bad writer to come and see what topics they should try and write about.

Hey Bill - I'm sure your friends and family in real life find you hilarious. Lets keep it that way. Salt Lake Trib readers would like to read objective reporting on the Utah Jazz. I'm not sure why you're so insistent on trying to be funny with literally every single tweet? Perhaps you can answer that truthfully on here since you read the forum. If I had to guess, I'd say it was carefully calculated so as readers get distracted and don't realize they're getting their Jazz news from someone incompetent to the intricacies of the sport.

Are you going to tell us which tweets are so offensive to you? I'm reading his stuff now and I've yet to be offended...

So when the beatwriters turn the light on the fans, the fans respond by calling the writer a dbag?

WTH is this train wreck about?

If I am following this correctly, the OP got in a twitter spat with Oram from the SLTrib. Then came on here and posted this thread about Oram being a Dbag, when Oram discovered the thread he mocked the name calling.

The only good info in all of this is that Jazzfanz tweets out the thread topics that we start so that other people can see them. And apparently Oram follows the jazzfanz twitter.

FWIW I like Oram, I thought he was an upgrade. Still sad that Siler decided to go to law school.

I agree. I'm reading his stuff now too, and I can't see anything there that merits this kind of reaction. His tweets are pretty harmless, if not always earthshaking, certainly nothing to get one's panties in a wad about.

Wow we're famous now!!

But this is exactly it. This silly spat is the kind of thing Brian T. Smith wouldn't get involved in. The fact that Oram is even tweeting about it is just unprofessional and it's petty back and forth, name calling type stuff.

The point being it's not even his personal twitter account. It's the Salt Lake Tribune's Jazz account. He has to take some responsibility to keep it professional.

I follow him. He has useful info from interviews and generally covering the team. (eg Hayward is doubtful for the Portland game). There are times that he seems to rebut every bit of criticism he receives in a condescending tone. These can go on for several tweets.

The rebuts seem to be more confrontational than informational to me. I'm not sure what he is trying to accomplish when he has those back and forths. Just worthless noise. I weed through them for the info that interests me. The best example I can think of is when he was arguing with someone about what a beat writer's job was. I have no idea how to search for those tweets, but I couldn't believe that he was arguing about it on his twitter account.

That's exactly what I mean. I got sick of it too. Why do we, the general public, have to go through all that personal stuff when all we want is good info. He doesn't do it in his newspaper article, why should he do it on twitter?? It's not your personal account!

Wow, I need to make more threads...

I bet Hack is a celebrity some where on the interwebs!?!?
