Who Would You Rather Have on the Jazz

At first Glance, it is easy to say maybe we should have drafted Paul George Instead Of Gordon Hayward. George is averaging around 18 points a game, 4 assists and nearly 8 rebounds a game, while Gordon is averaging around 14 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds a game. What is interesting however is that George gets 38 mintues a game while Gordon only gets 27 minutes a game. Also, George has shot 726 field goals this year while Hayward has taken just 458 shots this year. One thing i find especially interesting is that Gordon and George Seem to shoot an almost identical percentage from both the field and from 3 point range 42 percent and 39 percent. There is no doubt that George is a better rebounder than Hayward, but perhaps they are on the same level in most other areas. Just a thought.

George. Easily.

I love Hayward, and it was a great pick by KOC to get him,but George has super star potential.

Hayward. I think George is a better individual player, but Hayward can make people around him better too.

This. Paul George's ceiling is Rudy Gay.

Gordon Hayward's ceiling is a taller Manu Ginobili (a surefire future HOFer).

-George

I love Hayward, but I'd go with George. Who knows, though, Hayward may turn out to be even more productive once he gets the kind of minutes George does.

(Per 36)

Hayward: 18.3 points / 3.9 rebounds / 3.4 assists

George: 16.9 points / 7.4 rebounds / 3.7 assists

Let me reiterate I love Hayward and im glad we have him, but the idea that George is somehow at his ceiling and Hayward has limitless potential is tarded.

George's ceiling is waaaaay higher than Hayward's and I think George is just scratching the surface of what he can be.

I think Hayward will just become more consistent as he ages, but will basically be what he is now, which is great if Hea your 3rd or 4th best player on your team.

One thing worth mentioning is that George's breakthrough year wouldn't have happened without the increase in minutes. Would Hayward have burst onto the national radar the same way if he was getting 38 minutes per game?

Basically this.

George has a higher ceiling AND is already producing more right now.

agreed... George is a solid #2 for a championship team, Hayward would be a #3 at best.

George easy. Like Ugli I'm very happy with Hayward, but George right now is the best player on a good Indiana team. Already a great scorer and has all the tools to be a lock down defender.

Yeah......

Would you have said that during Gay's third season when he was averaging more points, similar rebounds, and a higher FG%??

To me, George strikes me as a very good defending SF, with a great three point shot and a solid rebounder. Huh. That reminds me of a description of Rudy Gay, aka the SF that everyone thinks should have taken the step to become a superstar, but never did. Seeing Paul George's lack of willingness to draw FTs, or great iso-ability leads me to make the same conclusion

Only a person who has seen Indiana play < 3 times would say that George is Indiana's best player.

Every knowledgeable fan who has watched the team, or strong writer who has really covered the team (i.e. Zach Lowe) says that David West is definitely their best player.

Seeing Indiana go to him during crunch time consistently only feeds my viewpoint.

Rudy Gay just doesn't have the "it" factor. All the tools are there.
