OFFICIAL: Trade Deadline Thread

Even ordinary Dwight is still leading the league in rebounds. Watch him get traded and then magically start making 75% of his free-throws. He needs good floor spacing to be effective, and the Lakers with their lack of shooting haven't been able to provide it. They have a hard time just getting him the ball. If the Nets could get Dwight and Korver, they'd be contenders.

Did I read correctly? Steven A. Smith reporting that Howard is trying to force a trade from LAL to Brooklyn?

Ha ha, if the Jazz could get in on that as a facilitator in exchange for some future unprotected picks from both teams I'd lov it. Getting to watch both teams melt and break down and having a vested intrest in watching them crash would provide alot of entertainment on these boards. Like the NY Knicks pick and the GS pick. A 2017 Nets and 2016 Lakers pick would be great.

Howard is a mess. Body of Superman, brain of Ottis.

I just saw on Hoopshype that Dwight said he has been informed by Mitch Kupchak that he won't be traded.

6 days left!! Will the Jazz even make a trade?

I think they'll make one or two deals near the deadline. They're just seeing how everything shakes out probably and putting their potential deals on the table. With as many players expiring as we have, it makes sense to move a couple of them just to get any value back. There's almost no reason not to trade Marvin Williams, for like, anything.

The more I think about it the less I want a trade. We'll just end up getting someone else to block our younger players.

We aren't trading away Marvin the ghost Williams or Earl why the **** am i still in pro basketball Watson, so what's the point.

Did someone shoot your dog or something. Lately you've seemed so depressed

Just got out of my DeLorean after making a short trip. I stopped by Feb. 22nd, 2013 and brought back this quote from the Deseret News:

"Down the stretch I didn't think there was anything on the table that we looked at that we thought could improve our team," O'Connor said. "We looked at a lot of things, but when we came to the final judgment we like our young assets and we weren't ready to part with that, so we just stayed pat. O'Connor gave a "no comment" when asked if most trade offers include demands for the Jazz's young core of Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter and Alec Burks. Sure, they want to win now — "Our goal is to make the playoffs," O'Connor insisted — but the Jazz weren't willing to mortgage their future success or cornerstone pieces for a quick fix."

I think what I now want is them to not make a trade. Then start the progression into the young players playing as soon as that happens. I hope KOC tells Corbin that while it's not his job to coach, if he (corbin) wants it to continue to be his job to coach then he will make a better effort to give the future of this team significantly more playing time.
.
I know it's a pipe dream. But a guy can be hopeful once in a while.

You guys are just so depressed because you know a trade isn't happening and now you are trying to talk yourself into liking it. I know you really want a trade.

The reason is that why would anyone else want him at that salary?

But if the Jazz can somehow swing it, I'd be ecstatic. I had high hopes for Marvin but I have really soured on him.
