What Teams Could Offer Jefferson the Max this Offseason?

Here is an interesting Topic. What teams could financially accomodate Big Al, and of those teams, which will be most interested in him?

It looks as though teams that have the ability to offer Big Al the max are as follows:

Pistons

Hawks

Mavericks

and maybe the Rockets

The Jazz could too of course

Pistons have no use of him with Drummond and Monroe. I do expect the Hawks will give him a near max contract after missing out on Howard.

If they're not they should be. A nucleus of Kemba, Ben McLemore/Nerlens Noel, Al Jefferson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (+ top-5 pick in 2014) might not be half-bad in a few seasons. Never underestimate MJ's power to create disasters, though.

Doubt Al would want to play there, though. If he got a close-to-max offer from Utah, I bet he'd re-sign. I think he legitimately wants to win, not relive his Minny years.

I could see the Wizards going after him. They have John Wall and Bradley Beal, and if they added a legit offensive big, they might not be too bad. they would just need another big to help cover up for defensive liabilities.

If Philadelphia doesn't want Bynum back or he doesn't go back they could Jeffy in.

The Mavericks seems like the biggest threat.

Cuban is never scared to spend money. They need another big time player next to Dirk to compete during his final years.

Better not be the Jazz. If he doesn't give them a discount (10-11 M/yr or less), let him walk and go to another losing team and make them a just below average team.

Jefferson will end up in Milwaukee, Dallas, or Utah. He would be perfect for Dallas as a 2nd or 3rd option. He could play well with Dirk beause Dirk would leave the paint to Jefferson, and with Dirk there and with Mayo, Jefferson would not be the 1st option anymore. He would get 10-12 shots a game, make about six and average about 15 points and 9 rebounds a game. He would be the best frontcourt partner on offense that Dirk ever had.

I don't think Al will get max. Here's a recap of teams likely to offer Al a deal:

1) Charlotte - gets them to the playoffs in the East

2) Atlanta - Plays next to Horford, although they need a defensive presence

3) Dallas - Needs a low-post presence, but also needs interior defense as much as anything.

4) Sixers - If they lose Bynum

5) Houston - If they miss out on Howard and they want to win now, but Josh Smith is a possibility and they could also go after Millsap.

6) Milwaukee - if they miss out on Josh Smith.

7) Lakers - Some complex sign-and-trade scheme with Howard going out - doubt they're humble enough to do this.

If KG retires, what are the Celtics likely to do?

Denver also likes Al, but I don't know their cap situation. They might offer a sign-and-trade for Iguodala's option year, if Iggy's into it.

Several other teams like Al and might offer a sign-and-trade, but I don't know the cap implications---Warriors, Clippers, Spurs, Bulls, etc.

"What Teams Could Offer Jefferson the Max this Off season?"

....only the ones that have thrown their brains to the hogs!

Al will get the max or close to it. The top three bigs are Bynum, Howard and Al. Statistically, all three are very similar. All three will get max deals this year.

Utah had better not give Al the max.

I can't wait for this board to explode when the Jazz resign Big Al to the max. The melt down will be epic.
