What's new

Tyrone Corbin, Master Motivator.

let's just say that Corbin makes many mistakes. He's a bit over his head. He seems to put his head in the sand and hope problems just go away without doing anything about it.

Quick Resume check; bear with me, i wrap it all up nice&quick in 2 points below.

(final post of the regular season ill be back to bump this to eat crow or say i told you so)

ill be quick, Corbin is no strategist, good. Strategies fail, and can be adjusted to(see d'antoni). Motivation however, does not fail. Everywhere in that resume is a slow starter who shows steady results and 'at the end of the day', gets the job done and accomplishes his goal.

Now to directly address his rotations(most popular topic on jazzfanz, BAR-NONE)... All of the players are being put in a vacuum. All of them. The kids are the Martyrs and the Vets are the Scapegoats. the main angst about this team is infact Ty, right where he wants it to be...

The Vets are being given too much time, knowing the fans will loathe them for it, prepping them to be on the top of their tippy toes to redeem themselves come 'winning time' (also they were showcasing for a trade incase some gm wanted to hand us alpha for no reason, no bites)

The Kids are being given such little time, Theyre on the other side of the Vacuum, No matter how good they play its not good enough for Ty. the kids will become bitter(as they are kids) and have delusions of playing so well they are gonna be noticed, they are restricted and we have massive cap space, theyre not getting out of utah til 26 at-least. The Kids are being motivated to get the absolute most of their minutes.

So that covers Motivation, now to my specialty, undressing strategy.

Last Prediction; When we hit the 'home stretch' during "winning time" (think, the last 15 games of last season). Then and only then, will the vacuum be released and strategy will supercede Motivation. The optimal lineups you guys are typing up over and over again will be used and the kids will be ready+motivated to make the most of their time in the spotlight. the vets will be motivated for contracts and to break the negative stigma they have built with us fans. Both will be motivated to make up for their mistakes, thats how ty rolls.

Last Point; Ask yourself "Have you been sucked into Ty's Vacuum?"... when boozer torched al in the last 2 minutes of that game i thought i had seen my fill, that i was gonna join in the negativity, im guilty of being sucked into the vacuum too. I beg of you to expand your perspective and at least consider this. its not my objective to come back at the end of the season saying i told you so, but i will.

Typical Jazz corporation lies. Improvement over the offseason. Never happens. Getting ready for trades. Never happens. More playing time down the homestretch. Won't happen.

Been there done that. I'll believe it when Al has signed with another team.

So you think that raja bell, cj miles, josh howard, and earl watson should all play more than alec burks? Right on man

thats the conclusion you have drawn from this thread? you think i put raja bell, cj miles, 30+ y/o josh howard riddled with injuries, and earl watson on the side of the vacuum with the developing kids(martyrs) or the grizzled vets(scapegoats)..

the guy most directly in the middle of this vacuum is of course DMC. the guys most in the middle of the spectrum on last years teams were cj and howard(upside if he got healthy), i cannot wait to see what DMC does with his minutes when the vacuum is released and its time to strategize for the playoffs

I guess i just dont understand what the hell your point is in this thread.
I thought you were defending corbin so i was asking you to defend his decision to play those guys i listed instead of burks for the last 2 years.

The just read your original post again..... so what you are saying is that the vets are playing a bunch and the youth are not playing as some kind of motivational strategy by ty corbin, and that when the "important" games arrive (playoffs) then corbin will suddenly start playing the lineups that we want right?

I would love to see it, but when the playoffs get here i predict that kanter and burks both will play less than they are right now.

i thank you for being so forthcoming.

i do disagree with your veiw that kanter and burks will sit, i think its going to go more like this:

((come winning time))

I hope you are right and im wrong

So you were a fan of the Knicks, but jumped ship to the Jazz? Now you want to tell us all about our team and what to expect? You really think you have a better feel for this team than the long time fans? You accuse everyone here of pannicking, but yet you were the one who pannicked when you gave up on your team. Right?

I mean no offense. Its a nice and positive thread and all, but there are deep rooted issues here at play that you will never understand. We have watched the Jazz almost do it year after year, but who just get in their own way each time, and only seemingly care about turning a profit. Its more frustrating than you can understand. You are only looking at this in a microcosm of one season. When actually its the boiling point of many seasons.

I would rather you be right and Ty pulls his head out his ***, but Jazzfanz know better. We can only hope that the team can over come his failures as a coach.

What about my avatar?

Listen, I actually thought Summer of Sam was extremely underrated and one of Spike Lee's better films, and I have a lot of respect for Adrien Brody. Dude's got an Oscar and had the balls to plant one on Halle Berry. But him as a straight guy playing a straight gay playing a gay guy for a buck. That just about crosses the line.
