But Captain Corbin, the ship is sinking. We are taking on water, we are going to miss the playoffs if we stay the course, we must change our direction and bench Marvin and Watson

Corbin: Shut up, you moran, Im the captain of this ship. Those are my best guys. I will go down with them if I have to. Stay the course matey. Arrrrghh

Awwwwwww. The sea has made the captain sick. We are going down boys.

Is this the one thing virtually everyone agrees on? I mean outside some trivial 1st unit-2nd unit flaws?

The funny thing is that corbin might eventually cut thier minutes and then the apologists will say "see he did what you all wanted, are you happy now."

And that is the main problem with corbin..... we all knew cj, howard, and bell should not have been getting minutes last year and the minutes should have went to burks, hayward, and carroll.

We all knew that tinsley was better than watson (albeit only a little better)

We all wanted millsap to play the 3 last year early in the season

We all wanted carroll, millsap, and hayward to be taking marvins minutes a long time ago.

We all wanted burks to play instead of our crappy geriatric point guards long ago.

We all want kanter and favors to get increased minutes.

Some of these things corbin figures out eventually but it always take him longer than the rest of us to do it. Or injuries force him too.

Yes everyone agrees on this except corbin.

Just like last year when everyone agreed that bell should not have been playing at all..... except corbin

Remember it's not who starts but who finishes? Corbin sat both in OT so shouldn't we be applauding his in game decision making that gave everyone what they've been armchair yelling for?

Dont forget Josh Howard and the lesson never learned. Corbin is making the exact same mistake as last year. Carroll should have been playing.

Marvin = this years Josh Howard.

History repeating its self.

Does Corbin not ask himself why we didnt re-up Howard?

The problem is we keep putting ourselves in huge holes. Its putting too much pressure on our guys to have to dig ourselves out of this hole every time.

Every minute counts. Not just the 4th quarter.

We do applaud his decision to keep those guys on the bench at the end of the game

But we criticize his decision for playing those guys from day one while keeping burks and carroll on the bench through the first 30 games....and for starting 3 players that are worse than everyone on the bench.

Burks wasn't ready for a role and Carroll earned his minutes as he should have. Your argument is now valid, and has been validated by Tyrone Corbin's decisions to play both of them more.

Tell you what, I'll be the most vocal if Watson plays much at all following the return of Mo. I want a combo of Mo with Burks-Hayward-Carroll (or Foye) 2nd unit from a pg perspective.

Anyone want to make a bet on what will happen? I mean, Ty is so dumb that you'll surely clean up on this right? It couldn't be possible that Earl Watson is little more than a place holder to keep the offense running so Mo's return will be a seamless transition.

The fact that some people would take your bet (i bet hack would) shows how stupid ty has been.... no other coach would play watson when we are healthy, but with ty there is a chance.

Oh and burks played great down the stretch last year (when we were playing our best ball to get into the playoffs) while cj, bell, and howard were hurt, so he had already proved he was ready for a role on the team

Also you say carroll had to earn his minutes like he should have..... well he was already here with the team and knew the offense and defense, meanwhile foye and marvin show up and just receive minutes and a nice role without having to earn them.... Sounds fair

Do people not understand Foye and Williams have proven themselves in the league? Carrol was a D league scrub. Granted Foye is in a slump and Williams has been terrible this year, but they had at least proven they could funtion at an NBA level.

Why is everyone talking about 'fair" like this is JR High girls ultimate frisbee?

You are right..... foye and marvin have proven themselves..... to not be very good players in the nba, so they should automatically get minutes and starting jobs over a guy that is better than them and works his butt off twice as hard as anyone on the team.

With Mo and Tinsley out Watson is going to see time. Simple fact. Marvin has been a dud. Worth a try but it is not working out. I'd start Carroll in his place.

Now that it appears that Mo will be back on Wed. v. the Cavs will Watson get time or will Ty go with Mo/Burks at the point?

Carrol was not better than them last year, Foye does not suck, he is sucking right now, but he does not suck, Williams has sucked for awhile, he needs to see a shrink or something. Carrol was an ok D league call up last year, Foye and Williams played meaningful minutes for good NBA teams last year. Lets be realistic here. Carrol has earned his minutes, but I dont think he would necessarily play better with the starters. Wouldn't get the ball, they don't run as much as the 2nd unit, etc .... Foye deserves to play, he just needs to break out of this funk.

I think Carroll wouldn't benefit with the starters but the starters would benefit with Carroll. His hustle, grit and heart would lead to more energy on the floor and possibly more opportunities to score as Carroll has a habit or creating chaos for the other team.

Check out lockes article on Marvin on weareutahjazz.com .... kind of interesting, not sure I completely buy it but its a good read.

Agreed. Marvin is forcing Corbin's hand. I'd say he should have changed things five days ago but with the pg position being what it is, I think Corbin has wanted to run more Burks, Carroll, & Hayward, which means Marvin is going to start. Let's see what happens next week.

They'll take a couple games to work Mo back into things. Conditioning shouldn't be much of an issue since it was only his hand, but he still won't be in game shape for at least a couple.
