Why is going with the hot hand who got you back into the ballgame a good decision?

I wouldn't have been pissed if Corbin stuck to his rigid rotations and put Favors back in at the six minute mark. I guarantee that if he had then the peanut gallery would have lynched him for it all the same.

I don't think so. Favors was having too good of game for anyone to have an ounce of credibility in complaining that he was subbed in. On the other hand, I feel completely justified that I'm pissed he was never subbed back in .. but primarily for his own psyche and chemistry.

That would have been the worst coaching decision imaginable. Ilyasova would destroy Favors or Kanter on the other end.

He found a way to go toward Favors and Kanter all game:

Again in the third, Ilyasova comes out and Corbin throws the book at them a minute later:

The only two decisions he made here were:
a) going Kanter>Favors final minutes of regulation. That was the correct decision.
b) Sticking with his starters in OT (minus absolute garbage from Burks). I am no fan of this brand of coaching. That triple overtime loss...

So stretch 4's kill favors..... well there are quite a few stretch 4's in the nba so we should probably get rid of favors since he will get destroyed by them.

What he did last night makes sense. Why hate on the guy. I might have started Favors for the Overtime, but other than that he did a good jump. We just got beat,

Continually starting three players who produce nothing, while better and more productive players are on the bench playing equal if not less minutes.

That makes NO sense.

This is at the heart of what I'm asking. How much hotter was Kanter than Favors?

What if they're young though?

Who cares? Kaepernick is young. Kyrie Irving is young. Harrison Barnes is young, as is the other wing on their team (the one from Wash I think).

Play your best players. They might make mistakes, but they will score more than ZERO points.

Being young is only an excuse if you can't do your job. Using youth as an excuse is what old people do to keep younger people from doing a better job.

Take age out of the equation. If Foye/Marvin/Watson were 23 and Burks/Hayward/Carroll were 30 and everything else was exactly the same (mistake and pluses to their game), who would be starting?

In my opinion it just doesn't matter. Favors was killing it. Got a rest. Kanter came in and was killing it.
My only argument is that Favors should have not played 30 minutes of great basketball and sat the 4th and OT, regardless.

Maybe I'm wrong and Favors is fine with it. Maybe ...

I have another idea. Corbin should take a vacation and Hornacek shoud take over. Let's see if he is even worse or not.

On the other hand, anything that includes Malone being the HC or bigmen coach is fine with me u can fire him.

Was said in jest. I am making fun of this youth vs. vets thing .. it should just be who's best. To me age is no more a factor than color or hairstyle.

I saw you explain to another poster that we could not take millsap out because favors would struggle to guard illyasova.

Favors is suppossed to be our 4 for the future... which means that he IS going to have to guard stretch 4's in the future....we could have used last night as an opportunity for him to learn to guard stretch 4's better (while favors was having the game of his life as well) so that maybe in the future, during a season that we are actually contenders, he would be better prepared to guard a player like illyasova.
Also Millsap is just as bad if not worse at guarding stretch 4's. Not to mention they are making the argument that Millsap could not be moved to SF because he'll shoot 3's on him. So what is it? Can he guard the 3 pt line or not?

I agree. But, if you could show with stats that Kanter was not hotter at the end of the game than Favors, then I think that would change a lot of the Corbin supporters' minds about last night. Or, if stats could show me Kanter was on fire to the degree some are suggesting, then it would make me feel a little less angry towards Corbin. Not completely, but it would ease the pain.

Great point.

False, He can guard stretch 4's not athletc 3's or big banging 4's ... He is a great defender on average 3's and 4's ..... Like Illyasova who went 3 for something .... not sure exactly but it wasn't good

From the sltrib:

"Enes was playing good so he stayed in," Favors said. "Something you've got to deal with."

Hopefully he meant it.

Read Bill Oram in the SLT, I think it was, whose report said Favors was the first one out of the dressing room and was waiting on the bus for the rest of the guys. That shows you how he felt -- he doesn't say much, but those actions speak volumes.

On the topic of Favors' ability to guard stretch 4's: didn't Bargnani go 0-10 while Favors was guarding him?

It was Bill Oram.
