An upgrade over Watson for sure.

You fire a coach for making the playoffs 2 years in a row (probably) in a tough western conference with a very average team?
Making the 8th seed is the definition of average.
The Jazz are where they are in spite of Corbin, not because of him.
You have to give him at least next year. You can't fire a guy after two years given the situation he is in.
The Jazz have an average roster. A C who can't play D at all, a very undersized 4, A 3 who might as well not be on the court at all, a journeyman 2, a journeyman 1, a kid from Butler who despite playing very well recently a lot of people would rather have the pick that was made after him, A very raw 3 year guy who didn't do anything in college and is showing that he will be a defensive player but will likely not be anything to write home about on offense, A turk who only started playing basketball 6 years ago and has sat out 2 of those 6 years but looks like he will be a stud, an under the radar recruit coming out of HS and college, a d league fill in who has had a nice stretch, 2 old *** back up pgs who weren't very good even in their primes, and a dunker 4 man who is 6'9" 200 pounds .... sounds like an 8 seed team to me.
You were saying that Corbin should get credit for making the playoffs two years in a row with an average roster.
Why should he get credit for doing what was expected given our roster.
So he basically just showed up. EXTEND HIM!

I disagree.I dont think he is failing, maybe he's not coach of the year but he isn't failing terribly.
Most of us thought we would have growing pains because we were in a rebuilding year. Not that we were going to play all the vets and very little of the youth. If we had done what we should have making the playoffs would have been difficult. The way Ty played it making the playoffs should have been a given.Hardly anyone expected to make it last year. Even fans of the team were skeptical (and fans tend to overrate their team).

To each his own I guess. I just think Jazz fans have an over inflated opinion of the talent thats on this roster.

.
The youth was not really ready last year to take the team to the playoffs. They still should have played. We would be much better off right now if they had.

I don't agree with your analysis of all of our players, but according to you, this roster is average. What is Corbin doing to get the most out of them?
I don't think he is. He is obsessed with his veterans, he treats Al, Paul, Randy, Marvin & our two old sucktard PG's like they are All-Stars.
Many of the changes he makes dont get done until LOOOONG after many people saw that they were necessary (Last year it was the Raja Bell and Josh Howard fiasco, now its Marvin, Watson, Tinsley) and he doesn't reward young players when they are productive, but gives Veterans (very f****** average ones at that) a long *** leash and even compliments them when they sucked in a game (Marv, Randy, & Earl lead the way, du f***?).
Hes inept.
I certaintly don't agree with all of Corbin's decision regarding PT, but I believe there are other factors at work. He is doing a good job at developing talent, and he is doing a good job of keeping everyone happy.
I saw this comment about developing talent from others, and I thought, wait a second. Maybe the talent is developing despite Corbin keeping them on the pine. Maybe it's their talent overcoming the lack of opportunities. Does it make sense that you improve your ability by not using it. Can you become a better musician by not practicing?

He's not keeping everyone happy, hes keeping his veterans happy and pissing off his young players the way Deron was pissed off when Sloan kept him benched most of his ROOKIE season.
Corbin is extending the benchings into 2nd and third seasons.
When does he start caring about keeping his young players happy?
I don't think it will be long before he loses his team because of this obsession with veterans.
What do you think goes through these young players minds when they hear "Marv, Earl, & Randy lead the way" when they sucked hard.
Everyone knows thats total crap and he still says it.
