Does the D League Call Up Give You Hope?

Does the call up give you hope that Hayward and Burks are going to be made the main attractions at SG next season? Will that mean that the Jazz will focus on PG and SF next year?

Or is the call up mean nothing?

It gives me hope, and I hope it gives all you hope as well.

I think the Jazz are looking at ways to solve the PG woes. It's a good way to work this guy out, even if it's just in practice. That said, I bet he gets some time in games. Why not?

If the Jazz can find a diamond in the rough to play PG, then maybe their draft strategy changes a bit. There's no one in the late lottery of this draft that just screams--"We got to get this guy!" Burke and McCollum are probably in play, along with other positions.

This guy is a SG. Does he have any reasonable PG skills? Are you implying that by bringing Leslie onboard they are going to move Burks even further into the PG lineup?

LOL

No.

Has anyone seen us play this entire month?

Did anyone just watch the Lakers blow out the Bulls? A team we just barely lost to?

Playoffs?

Nah, we're headed in opposite directions. Lakers are headed towards the playoffs while we are completely and utterly imploding. The same problems which haunted us last year exist (because our FO refused to make any changes. Idiots)... But they're just amplified much more because guys are now pulling Josh Howards and chucking at every opportunity.

In all fairness, trading for Mo and signing Foye were moves that many on here thought would fix the Jazz PG and 3 point shooting woes, but it is obvious it did not work out.

The Jazz, as a team, are shooting 36% from 3. Last year they shot 32%. Jazz are ranked 14th in 3 point shooting and last year they were 28th. Foye set the all time 3 pointers made in a season for a Jazz player.

Sounds like they took major steps in addressing that problem.

To an extent, but Foye has been such a streaky shooter, that many games when a made 3 pointer or two by him would have given them the win, he has not made them. Not to mention his poor defense which has caused big problems, and Corbin's insistence on playing him extended minutes even when his shot is off. Mo has also been decent at hitting the three, but he is also quite streaky, and his poor PG skills have also been a problem. So while yes, they did fix the 3 point shooting somewhat, the players brought in to do that have caused a whole new set of problems.

Leslie give me hope that we might has someone who can defend the Monta Ellis's of the world. Not that he will play much if at all.

We are going to make the playoffs. Everyone here is way to emotional.

To me scraping in as the 8th seed is this team under performing. I truly believe that the Jazz have the talent to be fighting for the 5th seed.

I have no idea if it will ever happen, but the idea of a Burks-Leslie lineup gets me excited.

Burks got his chance to play pg and he did pretty good. Burks hustles, and rebounds, Leslie is said to be an excellent rebounder for a sg. The two make up for Hayward being soft on the boards.

Put Burks at the PG, Leslie at the sg, move Hayward up to the sf, and play Kanter and Favors. On nearly every shot have Hayward release for fast break or to defend going the other way. Let the 4 gobble up the boards.

Realisticly though, what it brings to the Jazz is a guy who is anxious to show himself in practices. So while others may be tempted to give up or ease up he will be there going hard. Hopefully it brings up the level of intensity and reminds the 'vets' that there are no gaurentees in the NBA.

Leslie = Marvin. Good defender, can't shoot. Even though he's been doing good as of late, Marvin has had his streaks too.

Pathetically, yes it does. Because - despite knowing better - it's nice to see that the front office aren't just killing it in solitaire everyday and ANY time you can add an asset (especially for so cheap), you try. If Leslie ends up being something like Tony Allen or Demarre, awesome.

Marvin is a good defender against average players. He's nothing special.
