AK - an interesting perspective

Obviously this could go in one of the 5 AK threads on the front page. But I agree with it.

I think it's good enough to be posted as a separate thread. Good food for thought. Maybe the best thing we can hope for is that the trade DOES fall apart. Then everyone gets a chance to see what happens through mid-February. If AK returns to his old form and the Jazz are tearing it up, maybe Greg decides to raise beer prices a bit, keep AK and take the luxury tax hit. If the jazz are hovering in the 7/8 spot, then KOC can look to dump AK and save some bucks.

Great article ... the guy hit it on the nail. Probably was even more optimistic about AK's potential than me, another AK homer, but he made lots of valid points.

Now I will admit that I have always had an emotional attachment to AK ever since the after Stock and Malone left. What I have to say about the trade is; where is the loyalty anymore? AK has been in one Jersey his whole career and I would love to see that to the end. Who really wants to see a Jazz game with out the "through his own legs" passes, the high dribble that is always looks like it should be bounding away from him but never does. AK is the soul of the Jazz and any trade that involves him takes away some of the character that is who the Jazz are today. For better or worse I want to see 47 retired in the Salt Lake City rafters.

I would rather see number 47 raised to the rafters (not the jersey, the person).
