Who here really expects us to go 2-0 at Minnesota and at Memphis and for the Lakers to lose at home to Houston (who are locked in to their seed)?

Not me :(

On to the draft and hope for luck with the ping pong balls :)

While I do not expect it i do think it is certainly possible. We are talking about 2 road games not a 7 game series against a superior team. Anything can happen.

I guess I had put all my hopes on San Antonio winning yesterday.

Yeah I figured the Jazz would catch the Lakers with that loss and a win over Minny but the Lakers are fighting the Jazz like always. The Lakers and Jazz will fight for eternity I think lol.

The point is even if we win out, we all expect the lakers to win vs a less motivated Rockets team. I expect Memphis will be trying to kill us so they can have home court vs the clippers. Dunno about any Memphis-Clipper tiebreakers.

Here's the thing about the Houston game for LA-
If Houston cares about winning-

1- Jeremy Lin is too much for Steve Blake (Tony Parker is still recovering from injury, so Blake looked a better defender than he is)
2- PnRs with how slow Gasol has been since injury has been LA's weakness all season and Houston's biggest strength.
3- Who's going to guard Harden? World Peace? OK, but Peace might be too slow.
4- Asik should be able to handle D12.

The Grizzlies game will be too tough though.

How is Houston locked in? If GS and Hou both win tonight they are fighting for the 6th seed on Wednesday night. Memphis is locked in by Wed night and they might lay down. LA may be in the driver seat but s*** can hit the fan real fast in a playoff race like this as we have seen the last couple weeks.

I see GS (no way Popovich plays Duncan and Parker on a back to back that means nothing) and Hou both winning tonight. Making Hou play for the 6th seed Wed night.

Here is the other thing though:

1- Houston ****ing sucks on the road.

Maybe that's why they gave away waffle irons to the season ticket holders ... that way we can have some waffles to go with our Toast and Ty's scrabbled egg brain line up!

1 of 2 down and three straight on the road. Need a Laker loss and a Grizzlies win.

looking at 1st quarter score vs. Suns, maybe Rockets are tanking it to face injured Spurs rather than Nuggets

Think of all those games we could've/should've won this season.

OH man.
@ Nawlins 11/2
@ Memphis 11/5
@ Boston 11/14
@ Philly 11/16
V. Clips 12/3
V. Clips 12/28
V. Chicago 2/8
V. Boston 2/25
@ Milwuakee 3/4
@ Cleveland 3/6
@ Chicago 3/8
@ San Antonio 3/22

All winnable games. That is 12 games, let us say we win half of them. That is 6. That makes the Jazz 49-32 and the 6th seed. I feel that is entirely reasonable under a better coach.

Memphis is still playing for home court against the Clippers, IINM. Remember in 2008, Utah won the division, but did NOT have home court against Houston in the 1st round. So a Memphis win against Utah...and a loss by the Clippers tomorrow at home (Portland) or Wed (at Sacramento) gives Memphis home court. Unfortunately for Utah, their game will be nearly over by tip-off of the LA-Sac game. So expect a motivated Grizzlies team - not one resting starters.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong:

If Rockets lose today, they're a game ahead of the Lakers. The Lakers could catch them with a win Wednesday. I think they'll have split their games if the Lakers win, and then the next tiebreaker to come into play is conference record. Lakers have a better conference record. Therefore, if Rockets lose today, the Lakers-Rockets game will be for the right to avoid 8th seed and facing the Thunder.
