CJ the muscle man?

Considering he was about 185 when drafted, that's pretty impressive. And it doesn't look like fat.
If he can learn some defensive skills from Raja, he'd be a quality SG. With his size, he can outmuscle just about every opposing 2.

I'm excited to see how well he does in what should have been his 2nd season. Last year would have been a pretty decent rookie season if he'd gone to 4 years of college.

Any chance we can get a ban on ".. but if he went to college" statements? If CJ would have went to college, there's no guarantee he would have done better in the NBA. Look at Christian Laettner, JR Reid, Calbert Chaney, Sean May... all wonderful in College. Only one of them was a great role player in the NBA. Adding "but if he went to college" to how good a player is, seems to me to be not only no different, but more detrimental than paying max money for potential.

Lets just hope he's still as quick at 232 as he was at 185.

DeShawn Stevenson is on the other line, and he calls your rhetorical statement bunk.

This is a make or break year for CJ.. He showed some good signs in the playoffs last year. If he can play like that consistently and take it to the basket a lot, he could be a big x factor for us.

I love how every season for CJ "is make or break." The CJ we have seen is CJ. He's not going to get any better. He's not going to become like Kobe. He's going to chuck up shots and clank them on the rim.

Apparently this guy is Nostradamus ;-)

he's 23 not 33. CJ has a lot of room for improvement. However the CJ we saw in the playoffs would be plenty.

wouldn't it be awesome if CJ Miles just started putting up like 30 pts/gm?

...okay I'll put my pants back on now.

Agree. He's improved every year he's been here. Last season may have been a small step back in the regular season, but that's because of injury. And no UB, I wouldn't want CJ to put up 30/per. I'd like to have the main scoring coming from Jefferson and Millsap. They'll be much more efficient inside. As gregbroncs said, the CJ we saw in the playoffs (14 pts/per) would be plenty, especially if Miles also works with Raja and improves his defense.
