Yeah he did play for the AFA and that's where Pop saw him. According to what I read the Spurs wanted to give him a two year guaranteed contract if he could get the service waived or deferred. The Air Force said no so he did five years active duty. I suspect there may have been some rust this DLeague season, but Pop doesn't do charity cases.

Stats last year at AFA playing in the Mountain West Conference 14.3 ppg, .592 fg .453 3point 82% FT 3.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

No the Spurs head coach. He saw the kid play at AFA and was trying to get the Air Force to waive its service commitment. I think he did five years and is now playing in the DLeague on the same team as Travis Leslie.
