Bona Fide Jazz Duo Win Anti-NBA Award Thread

What this stat basically means to me is that tinsley and Watson suck so bad at shooting that they are more likely to end a possession with a turnover than a shot attempt.

The percentages were both under 35%, meaning they ended with a shot twice as often as a turnover.

Wow, thanks for catching that, I'd better tell the nba stats site that I grabbed the definition from that they have had it wrong for 30+ years. You can expect a call from them any minute now.

Sorry to post something other than the standard Ty corbin & Al Jefferson suck and Jazz should get Drexler Sabonis.

Its a long time till October.

They give you the formula right there.
They are defining "plays" to mean shot attempts and turnovers, which is dumb, so yes, you should inform them that they've got it wrong. Sorry to imply you were mistaken, you were just quoting someone else.
The worst person is the one who wrote the article. He should have known that he was miss-using the stat.

All the stat means , in this instance, is that Earl and Jam don't take a lot of shots.

I guess the question I have for you then is: Why don't they take a lot of shots?.... Why do defenders leave them wide open all the time?

So until Earl 'won' this award I had never looked at TOV%. I'm not sure what the stat reveals since it tracks how a teams possession ends by each player. It says that a possession can only end by a shot, him getting fouled, or a turnover. For pass first players it is skewed higher because they are penalized for an errant pass but never rewarded for an assist.

Stockton ended his career with a mark of 20.8, but Allen Iverson ended at 12.2. Steve nash 19.4, CJ Miles 9.9.
