Schroder is coming in with more hype..
Eric will always be stronger and more athletic.
I suspect Schro will be the better passer.

They could be similarly 'good' but going about in different ways.

IMO Schroder is already a better playmaker than Bledsoe. A huge part of Bledsoe's defensive success is his tremendous strength. Like Derek Fisher back in the day is allows him to quickly establish position on while sliding laterally. If don't look like you are fouling someone, the reality you might be doesn't usually get called.

Schroeder is not the leaper and explosive athlete like a John Wall or Eric Bledsoe.

But he has elite level speed/quickness. Very similar to Tony Parker.

I see his upside as an average scorer and passer but elite level defender with very good length. Should turn into a starting PG in like two-three years.

I would also add that he seems to have a reliable outside jump shot that can help spread the floor for his teammates.

I liked Bledsoe a bit, but there were people on here talking about how he would bring us a championship the first year. The love for Schroeder is even more insane. People are acting like we should be mortgaging our future to get him, at any cost. The guy will probably have an ok career, but I just don't see trading anything significant for him especially if we could just pick him up at 14, or even 21. I just really don't see us adding a great piece through the draft this year.

the way i see it, Schroeder is the bigger, younger(almost 4years) version of Bledsoe who seems to have fixed his broken jumpshot way earlier in his progression, i also see much more of a defined "Point Guard", Bledsoes position before Cal got him was "Athlete" or "Guard"

i like this comparison, i much prefer Schroeder. Dennis reminds me of john wall but an inch and a half shorter, or he reminds me of Bledsoe, in Jeff Teagues Body, he very well could grow an inch and end up Deron's Height but skinnier too, his arms are crazy long he might register a SF type wingspan. he does have some broad shoulders too, maybe this kid really fills out, u never know.

Because I've started two threads in a month? Go **** yourself.

Just curious, how have you or anyone else seen enough of Schroeder to have an informed opinion about him. A number of posters here are talking about him like he's a known quantity. What's your sources of info about him to arrive at such a confident opinion? I'm not knocking you, just curious.

All I have seen is the Hoop Summit and some highlights. But I have seen a fair amount of Bledsoe. IMO Schroder made some simple, very good passes after getting into the lane. Bledsoe just doesn't have the vision to be much of playmaking guard.
