Shabazz Muhammad has some good talent but I am just worried about character and some of the potential issues. I don't know if the apple falls far from the tree. There are others that have had good careers when they had shaky parents. It will be interesting to see if Muhammad is there, if they take him or pass.

I wish we could trade up but... Unfortunately, the only thing worse than picking in a weak draft is picking multiple times in a weak draft. Our two 1st round picks aren't really any assets to use as bargaining chips.

He looks like JR Smith. But still, worth to gamble if available as the 14th pick.
 
True story. Calipari was at one time recruiting Muhammed and another kid named God's Gift.

Later, he said, "I just wanted to see if I was a good enough recruiter to get God and Muhammed to play on the same team.

I'm curious.. what, exactly, is this bad seed stuff? Did he get caught with drugs? No, he's seen as a me-first player by some... but NOT his teammates. His dad created an enormously bad situation for 'Bazz and in my opinion the kid has dealt with it all pretty damn well.

Coach K recruited him VERY hard.. for whatever that's worth....
 
If they were overblown, his stock wouldn't be so low. We'll see where he actually goes, but he's very talented to be dropping to 14.

haha.. mock drafts but an independently owned entity do not dictate draft stock.

Shabazz is now #1 on my big board. EPIC rise! (and, wow, was that easy)
 
Do you guys remember the negativity surrounding Klay Thompson? That was an awful draft and I'm not saying I'd want him normally at #13, but I was pissed that GSTankers won him right before our pick. The mocks had him at a stupid 22 or some **** because he was a "head case".

I've been building an investment thesis for 4-5 years based on nothing more than media hype -- if recognizable this stuff has gotten to silliness levels -- and that says Bazz is an easy buy low.
 
I think Bazz will go between 4-6. He's to good to fall all the way to us. I don't buy that his stock is down at all. I think teams are trying to take advantage of the age scandal. Having stupid parents is bad for collage, but we are talking about the nba.
