Just out of curiosity, what's your problem with criticizing racism? So, let me see if I understand. If I, not being a racist, live somewhere where there are lots of racists, I can't speak out against racism anywhere?

Also, I'm curious, who do you have in mind when you mention all of the people in the above named countries who are decrying racism in the US? Where they are speaking out, what's your evidence that they themselves are racist? Guilt by association?

Finally, I like to think that we, and the world at large, holds the US to a slight higher set of standards where it comes to things like this than say, Albania, Saudi Arabia, or Iran. Do you think we should aspire to the same standards as these countries?

Try getting a job if you are white in store/business run by Indian - I do not have official stats but few people I know who applied where quickly dismissed in favor of indians. They will cry about how they are mistreated here and that white people are racists ( had numerous discussions with indians here and 90% of them cry racism against them), yet they are the worst by tolerating others. Again, I do not have stats, just my personal opinion and experience.

Yeah Albania is real racist, with them being the only country protecting Jews during the Second World War.

The Indians you talk to here, did they participate in the racism in India? Are they racist here in their own attitudes and treatment than others? If so, then yes they are hypocrites.

They are not, however, hypocrites because racism may exist (and may systematically exist) in India, but they themselves are not racist.

You just love generalizing to billions from small, biased sample sets don't you?

I gave the article a quick read, and I think it's kind of silly. For one, Arabs don't even really have the concept of race. How did they ask that in Arabic? What word did they use? Regardless, Jordan borders Israel, and I'm 100% sure all those who responded to the survey were thinking of Israel when they responded.

That said, of course Westerners are less racist in general. Western culture, being superior to most other cultures in every way, is typically very aware of its shortcomings, and its people give real effort to remedy those problems. In Jordan, the word for a black person is "slave". People say that casually, without anyone raising any objections. Hell, when I was a kid, I used to buy a chocolate product named "head of the slave". It had a caricature of an smiling African on the wrapper. People over there had no awareness of the concept until the advent of the internet. And since Jordan's ethnic minorities are all Arab or white (Russian), they see all others as the outsider.
